RAKs and Happy Mail!!

I just could not hold off on sharing what I have recently received by such creative, talented, and very sweet girls. Some are RAKs from our gathering and some I have received in the mail!!
This first photo is a RAK I received in the mail from sweet Jen!! She was so sweet to send me this as a Welcome to the Twilight Tuesday DT!! I just love it and if you think it looks great here in the photo, it's a million times more awesome in person!! Thanks girl!! =)
This is a RAK from Joy!! She created an easel card over a drawer that can hold just about anything and added a calendar. Cute huh!!
This is a RAK from Teri!! You guessed it, it is a roll of toilet paper, stamped and wrapped in tissue paper with a great poem!! This was a project I learned when I first became a Stampin' Up Demonstrator too. Thanks Teri, it brings back great memories!!
This is a project that Michelle showed us how to make, a super cute picnic basket!! Love this, don't you? Not only did we create that, but she also taught us how to make the pretty pink floral decoration using paper and punch! Awesome creations!
This is a RAK I recieved from dear sweet Rita!! She has great creations on her blog and was so sweet to share it with me for the holidays, thanks so much!!
Lastly, this is my RAK for the girls which is a photo album. I decorated the front cover using my Hello Kitty cricut cartridge, and MS punch. This was so much fun to make and I know they will be able to make use of it to hold photos or card samples.
Well, that's it for my RAKs and Happy mail!! I hope you enjoyed seeing all of them!

Saturday Spotlight: Big Things

Happy Saturday and welcome to another Saturday Spotlight Challenge!! This week the challenge is to create a card using BIG things, and I've decided to use a big chipboard in the shape of a heart. I covered the chipboard with some Basic Grey Valentine paper called bittersweet.
I then chose my image which is Stella from The Greeting Farm and turned this card into a romantic vintage one.
I added some lace to the top and bottom, then added pearls for a border. This was a real challenge for me since I usually try and keep things around the same size of each other.
Hope you will join us for the challenge! Have a great weekend!!

A Fluttering Snowglobe

It's time for Flutterby Wednesday and the All That Scraps Wednesday challenge! I thought I'd combine the 2 challenges together for more added fun. The challenge at All That Scraps is to create a Snowglobe Card, I have never made one until today and this is actually so cute! It's cute to look at rather easy to put together. You can find the tutorial HERE.
The Flutterby Wednesday challenge is an open challenge meaning you can create what ever you want just as long as it has a pixie, fairy, angel or butterfly. So the image I have chosen is a Swiss Pixie from All That Scraps. There's one card down for Christmas!!
Be sure upload your card to the All That Scraps challenge blog HERE.

I finally got to get my card done for Day 3 of the The Greeting Farm's CHA Relay Race, this adorable digital image is called Toby Cub! I just love his cute cheeks!! Well, I really wanted to color him as if he were a cute and cuddly bear so I had to make him brown. My initial thought was to make him pink for a baby girl but I've got way too many cards for a girl, SO he remains a boy for my card.
I really did not get a great photo of my card. The lighting was really not good and does not show the background as it really is if you were to see it in person. Well, this will have to do since we are given a time limit on creating. Hope you liked the card otherwise!!
See ya back with another card for Flutterby Wednesday!!

TTIC Color Challenge#2: Thoughts of Bella

Hello everyone, my apologies in getting this post up so late! Life happens outside of blog world believe it or not, LOL! Well, it's time for another Twilight Tuesday Challenge and it's a color challenge. Alison has asked us to create with these colors that inspired her when she thinks of Bella. This was a great color challege because I probably would not think of a great color combo like this!!
So here is what I came up with for my card. This is Camille from The Greeting Farm, so cute! I thought Bella looked pretty good wearing red, since she doesn't in the movie either... that I can recall from both Twilight and New Moon. Correct me if I am wrong. Here is a little explanation of how she came up with the combo. Pretty cool huh! I hope that you will join us for this challenge, be sure to follow the rules on this post HERE.
Don't forget to check out what the rest of the Design Team has created:

Have fun everyone!! I will be back shortly to post my card for the current Greeting farm image for the CHA Relay Race, and to comment on all of your fabulous blogs too!! See ya soon!!

Mermaid Anya Found Her Match!!

Hi Everyone! Thanks so much for stopping by with all of your sweet comments and for playing in my current blog candy! I must apologize for not commenting or posting as usual. I was recently diagnosed with Vertigo a few days ago and am still recovering from it. For those of you not familiar with Vertigo, check it out here. For those who are... you must know how horrible that feels!! So, with that said I am trying hard to get back into the swing of things and decided to start off with this new guy.
This is Mer Ian. He is the newest digital image that you can download for FREE at TGF. He is the first image we are given to participate with for the CHA Relay Race. The deets are all on their blog so check it out before it's too late!!

I must say this is not the card I would have liked to post since I know I could have either taken out or added something but since I am still recovering, I had to put something together rather quickly.
Of course I had to make his fins sparkle! That's how I like my men! LOL! If you knew what that meant then GREAT, if not... you need to start reading the Twilight series!
Anyway, hope you liked my card and in the mean time will have to get back into the groove of things! Enjoy what's left of the weekend!
Hugs, Jodi

A Couple of Challenges

Happy hump day everyone, I hope all of you are doing well!! Today I have 2 new challenges for you to participate in! They are All That Scraps and Flutterby Wednesday. The All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge is to create a card using Red, Pink and Brown.
The Flutterby Wednesday Challenge is to use some kind of embossing on your card.
So, I have combined them all into one card.
My card was created using this brand new stamp from All That Scraps, her name is Rosalie with Roses. She comes from the Swiss Pixies line so she works perfectly for the Flutterby Wednesday Challenge.
I decided to go for the simpler look on this card since the papers are pretty well embellished. The sentiment I used for it comes from a set found at All That Scraps called Autumn Sentiments. I thought this one matched her the most.
Be sure to upload your creations to the All That Scraps Challenge here.
The Flutterby Wednesday Challenge, here.
Have a wonderful day and I will continue to get to visiting your blogs today!
Card Details:
Stamp: All That Scraps (Rosalie with Roses, & Autumn Sentiments)

Seeing RED?

Have you been seeing red lately? Well, I've definitely been using a lot of red these days just because Valentine's Day is on it's way!! It's time for another Twilight Tuesday challenge, and this time we'd like to see you use RED on your cards!
I finally had a chance and reason to use this cute digital image from The Greeting Farm called Ebony. I have a friend that looks just like Ashley Green who plays Alice in Twilight so, it really was not hard for me to color her as if she were human! LOL! Anyway, I have used a sketch from Mojo Monday to create the card. Erica has decided on this challenge and wants to also know what our best "red" story is.
I don't have any exciting story to tell. The only thing that relates would be that a friend from highschool and I used to love this color so much that we both had to wear red dresses to the prom, our bags for school were red, we painted our nails red, and my highschool sweetheart had a red car (coincidence)! We basically had to get everything in red.
Be sure to create your red card for us and post it to the blog!
I just wanted all of you to know that I am slowly getting around to commenting on your blogs, things have been hectic over the weekend and I am trying to catch up with it all. Thank you everyone for all of your very kind and thoughtful comments!
Card Details:
Stamp: Digital Image: Ebony (The Greeting Farm)
Paper: Real Red, Basic Black, Neenah CS, Ghostly Greetings DSP (SU)
Ink: Memento Black, Going Gray (SU) (Background)
Copics: E00, E11, R20, R37, R39, R89, C5, C7, C8, C9, 100, W00,W3
Accessories: Martha Stewart Border punch (Deco Fan), Black Grosgrain ribbon (SU), White and
silver ribbon (unknown)

Hugs & Kisses

I hope all of you are enjoying your weekend (if you have today as a holiday)!! I apologize for a late post today I was in the middle of doing the laundry and creating the card you see here. In the middle of doing a load of laundry, I colored my image and had this crazy urge to play guitar hero which I played for an hour!! LOL! Anyway, the card I have for you today was created for a sketch challenge over on the Twilight Tuesday blog!!
The image I used for it comes from The Greeting Farm called Spring Fairy. Spring will be here soon so I thought this was the perfect time to use her.
Here is the sketch that we'd like for you to use this week. Be sure to post all of your creations to the post HERE, so we can see all of your wonderful creations!
I had lots of fun coloring this image and really wanted to use Valentine colors for her since it's just around the corner. Hope you like her!! =)
I have had requests to post the colors of copics that I have used to color my images with and will try hard to keep up with those details as well as the materials I used and where you can get them. I hope that helps!
Card Details:
Stamp: Spring Fairy Digital Image (The Greeting Farm), Sentiment from Stampin' Up

"Smile" for Christmas

It's Saturday, the start of a 3 day weekend for some of us here in the U.S. and also the start of a new challenge with Saturday Spotlight! There were so many awesome creations from last week's challenge I can't wait to see what all of you will do with this week's one which is to go CRAZY with Snowflakes!! What a perfect time of year to do so!!
The card I created for the challenge uses a brand new stamps from the newest release from Belles n' Whistles collection called Sweet Things. This stamp is called Smile. I absolutely LOVE this collection and if you have not seen it or got any yet... what are you waiting for??
This is not a Christmas stamp but I wanted to show you how it can be used for another season. In fact, this stamps can be used for all 4 seasons of the year! Just add fall leaves instead of snowflakes...ya know what I mean? =) Anyway, I have used a sketch from Friday Sketchers for my card and did some sewing on each of the panels for added fun!
Be sure to check out the rest of the wonderful creations by the rest of the DT by clicking on each of their names here: Boni, Chris, Crystal, Darlene, Dawn, Erin, Jessica, Maria, Vicki.
Hope you'll join in on the fun!

Belle Of The Ball

Hello blog land! I'm extremely excited that it's Friday because it's been such a long week for me. Today begins a new challenge with Copic Creations, can you believe we are already on Challenge #20!! Time sure flies! This challenge the DT and I created cards using adorable digital images created by Phindy of Phindy's Place. So, the Copic Creations challenge is to color ethnic skin tones.
This is the first image that I've ever used from Phindy and I had so much fun coloring and creating with it, her name is Belle of the Ball. She looks so happy showing off her pretty dress.
I have seen a couple of cards in the past few weeks that used blue for their card so I had to try it out, and I must say that I love the various shades! The variety allowed me to use a range of sizes with my flowers. I have added some glitter to my flowers for a little bling and fun!
Hope you have a chance to join us for the challenge! Check the blog for the rest of the cards made by the DT, they are fabulous!
Tomorrow begins a new challenge for Saturday Spotlight, see you then!
Card Details:

Be My Valentine

Happy Wednesday everyone!! It's Flutterby Wednesday time! I hope you enjoyed the blog hop last week and got to see all kinds of fabulous creations from the design team. This week the challenge is an open one which means you can create using any image of an angel, fairy or pixie.
I have used a swiss pixie from All That Scraps, her name is Birgitta. I had her when she was first released...maybe during the summer or before Thanksgiving and did not have a chance to ink her up until today. Too many stamps, so little time! LOL! Anyway, to create my card I have used this week's Mojo Monday sketch.
I also had a chance to use one of my newest Martha Stewart Punches and added some white pearls to the center of the punched out flowers. I just love the colors of this card! So warm and loving. =) Hope you will join in on the Flutterby fun and be sure to upload your card to the new blog HERE!
Please scroll down to see my post with All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge!!

I'll bet this is what most of you are doing right now with all the snow falling in various parts of the world. Keep warm everyone!! This card was made for the start of a new challenge with All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge! The challenge this week is to create a card with snowmen.
This image is from the Cookie Crumbs line at All That Scraps. This set has such cute images of mugs for cocoa and cute matching sentiments too, check it out HERE!
I tried to get a photo of the glitter I added to the snowman. I was going to puff up the marshmallows in his mug but got distracted with something and forgot to heat it with my heat gun... lol. Anyway to participate in the challenge, all you need to do is follow the challenge and use any stamp found in the store, and upload your creation by next Tuesday. Have fun and have a great day!

Bella's Birthday

You guessed it... It's time for a new Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge!! This week the challenge was chosen by Allison, and since it's her birthday she would like to see you create a scrapbook page of either your birthday, your child's birthday or keeping it all Twilight!!
That is exactly what I did!
I decided to create a 6x6 scrapbook page of Bella's Birthday in New Moon but the part that was more normal. Everything before she gets that paper cut while opening that gift she's holding. I am starting to put together a little album of the Twilight creations I make while I am currently on the DT for Twilight Tuesdays, it's so much fun!
Here is what the entire page looks like. A simple layout with little details for embellishments since the photos are the main focus, and the bottom one is rather detailed already. I hope you will join in on this week's challenge and head on over to wish Allison a Happy Birthday!!

A Sweet Winter

Happy Monday everyone, I hope all of you had a fabulous weekend!! It's time for another Roses on Paper/Belles n' Whistles Challenge! This time it is my turn to host the challenge, and I decided upon a Winter card. I know all of you are saying that we just had Christmas... think of it this way, you can use the card for this coming Christmas!!
The stamp that I am using here is from Belles n' Whistles and is called Gingerbread Love. These cute kids are enjoying their favorite holiday snack!! I think I am really loving the pastel side of the Christmas colors so much more these days. It has to be the pretty papers and craft accessories.
I did take the time to sew on some red thread around each of the layers on this card. It really does not take long at all (in case you were wondering). I just have to remind myself that it's another option for an embellishment!! I hope that you'll join us for the challenge, remember that you have 2 weeks to join in before the next one begins!! Have a wonderful day!

Saturday Spotlight Challenge: No Hearts

The weekend is finally here! There are times where the work week seems so know what I mean. =) Now that the weekend is here, it's time to relax and take it easy and also time for a new challenge with Saturday Spotlight!! The challenge this week is to create a card or project to represent love using no hearts. This can be a really hard thing to do if you use hearts for most of your love projects.
The card I made is using a wedding couple from The Greeting Farm. Because the challenge is to use no hearts, I decided that vintage was the best way to go. I added flowers and some pearls along with some stitching with my sewing machine.
Here's a close up of the happy couple! I have had this stamp since it first came out but never had a chance to ink it up until this challenge. I think this will make a cute wedding card for any couple, and it was really simple to create, especially if you don't want to use too many embellishments.
Be sure to check out the blog to see the other DT creations and this week's prize!!
Have a great weekend!!

Be My Sweetheart

Please scroll down for the Flutterby Wednesday Blog Hop
Happy Wednesday everyone and welcome to the first All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge of the year!! This week the challenge is a sketch. I love sketch challenges, they're so much fun and for the most part you can use any image too!
This image I used today is of Kiki La Rue. I love all the stamps from CC Designs and can't wait until I get my new stamps in the mail~ you can guarantee I will be creating with them in just a couple of days!! =) I was in the mood to create a card for Valentine's Day since it really is just around the corner. The sentiment I used is also from a set of stamps in the CC Designs line. Click HERE.
Here is a close up of the stamp and sentiment. I love this stamp, she reminds me of myself in the morning...everything except the rollers in her hair, LOL!! I hope that you'll join in on the challenge this week, I can't wait to see what you'll create with the sketch!! Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you may leave!!
Hugs & Aloha!

Hi everyone, welcome to the first Flutterby Wednesday post of the year! Today we start the year off with a Flutterby blog hop! If you have arrived here first you'll want to start at the beginning with Danni's blog, but if you arrived from Ann's blog you are on the right track!!
Not only is it the first post of the year for this challenge but we also have a new challenge blog just for Flutterby Wednesday and you can see it HERE!!
The challenge this week is to create a card that deals with the theme of something NEW. It could be anywhere from the celebration of a new year to getting a new craft item. I am using the brand new Tilda from the Winter collection. I call her Valentine Tilda, isn't she cute! I then added butterflies using my new Martha Stewart punch.
We also have 4 guest designers that are joining us for the next 3 months, they are Debby, Jeanette, Shana and Suzie welcome girls!!
I hope that all of you are having fun on this hop, the next blog you should visit is Lelia.

Tuesday, January 5, 2010

I've got wonderful news to share with all of you... I have been chosen to be a design team member for the Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge blog! I was so excited and immediately accepted the invitation from dear Margie, thank you so much!! =)
First of all there are 2 challenges going on the blog at the same time. The first challenge is a sketch and the second is to create something with Sparkle!!
So I have combined the 2 together. This is the sketch to follow and for sparkle I have used Edward from The Greeting Farm when he was available as a digital image and added some stickles to his skin to represent his vampire skin.
Unfortunately this photo does not show the stickles as well as I thought it would. When creating my card I had decided to find some paper that kind of looks like a forest and have him as the focal point of the card.
I hope that you will join us for both of these challenges, they are so much fun!!
Have a great day!!
Stamps: TGF (digital), sentiment (Artful Inkables)
Paper: Basic Black CS, Neenah White CS, Basic Grey Wisteria DSP
