New Year Cutie

Time for a new challenge with All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge and Flutterby Wednesday! This adorable little cutie is Kiki and she can be found at All That Scraps as a digital image. She was originally created for the 4th of July but I am using her here for the All That Scraps challenge which is to create something for the New Year.
I decided to try something different by making a card with lots of bright colors in celebration of the new year so I brought out my silver cardstock that kind of looks like a mirror.
Here you can see that I have added some silver stickles to her clothes as well as the firecracker she is sitting on. I also found some white satin ribbon with some silver on the edges.
This week the Flutterby Wednesday Challenge is an open challenge so you can create anything with a butterfly, fairy or angel on your card. Next Wednesday the Flutterby team and I will be showing you the NEW Flutterby challenge blog, you won't want to miss it!
Please join us for the challenges, we'd love to see what you create!!
Have a terrific day!

A "Modern" Manger

Hello everyone! It's been a while since my last posting and I've been sooo busy with the cleaning of my craftroom and getting things ready for Christmas. My card for you today was made for the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge and Flutterby Wednesday Challenge.
The challenge for All That Scraps is to create a nativity scene but I wanted to do a modern take on it and created a modern manger for a baby.
I have used the stroller from a set called Oh Baby, which is in the Gingersnaps collection from All That Scraps and I used the angel from a CC Designs set called Angel Emma and can also be found at All That Scraps. She is playing some sweet music for this little baby. I have added some raffia to the bottom of the stroller to represent the manger that baby Jesus was born in.
I then added some gold stickles to the harp and stickles to her wings as well as some dew drops to the center of the wheels and on the card itself. The Flutterby Wednesday Challenge is an open challenge, which means you can create what ever you want as long as you have a butterfly, angel or fairy on your card.
Sure hope that you have a chance to join us in these challenges!!
Have a great day!!

All That Scraps & Flutterby Challenges

Happy Wednesday! Today I've got some cards to share with you for 2 new challenge blogs! My first card was made for the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge blog. The challenge is to use sparkle, and I decided on using Trevor with Ornaments.
It is hard to see in both photos, but I have added bling to the ornaments and used stickles all around each border of cardstock.
You can see a little of the stickles here. I just adore all of my CC Designs stamps and hope to use all of the Christmas ones before Christmas arrives. Be sure to upload your card to the blog, you'll have until next Tuesday to play and the winner and new challenge will be posted on Wednesday.

My next card was made for Flutterby Wednesday!! This week's challenge is to follow a sketch created by Mercy, and you can see that HERE.
I have used a cute stamp from CC Designs called Junebug. She is a fairy and will definitely qualify for the challenge if you have this stamp too!
I had to create in a color that was not Christmas. Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas but needed a break from those colors. =) So I of course had to created something in pink!
I hope you can see that I have added some pearls and glitter to her wings. Don't forget to upload your card by next Tuesday. Be sure to check out what the rest of the talented DT has made for the challenge! Ann, Cassie, Chris, Christine, Harriet, Heather, Karen, Kimberly, Kris, Kristie, Lelia, Michelle, Nancy, Nicola, Pam, Stef. Thanks for stopping by!! I'll be visiting your blogs today... just so busy these days! =)

Copic Creations Challenge #18

It's time for Copic Creations Challenge #18, and the challenge is to color pine. This could be anywhere from Christmas pine to a pine tree of all kinds. I'm guessing that most of you crafters out there will have a Christmas tree to color to participate with us. The image I used for today is from House Mouse and Friends.
This was my first time coloring a house mouse stamp. I was so afraid to color it since there are so many others out there who are such professionals with these images but it was so much fun!
This challenge is sponsored by House Mouse and Friends and they will be giving the winner a $25 gift certificate! How awesome!
When I colored my image I wanted to make it look like they are opening the box on the beach. I know the holidays are just around the corner and everyone is rushing around shopping, but I hope you have a chance to join us for the challenge. You'll have until December 31st to participate with us then a new one starts on January 1st 2010. Have a great day!

Sing Your Heart Out

It's Saturday and it's time for another Saturday Spotlight challenge for you to try! I've just been asked by Vicki to join the team full time! Yippee!! Well, onto the challenge... we'd like to see you create a card or project with your favorite kind of music. I love all kinds of styles of music but since I am currently listening to Christmas songs I decided to make a card with Tilda singing!!
She is one of the newest images in the Magnolia collection this year.
I have colored her with my copics and glittered her wings with some dazzling diamonds. I really wanted to use this paper with my card because it is so perfect for the theme and I wanted a vintage feel to it. I've added some prima poinsettia flowers and some beige pearls to the centers. Lastly, I have punched out some scrolls and added pearls to them too.
This week our Spotlight sponsor Cathy from Paper Garden. Not only is she providing the prize for our winner, but she is also donating a store discount for the Saturday Spotlight readers! Check the blog for details for the special code!!
This will be the last challenge of the year but the winner will be announced on December 18th and then we will be back next January 2nd , 2010 to start another year of fun! Here's wishing you a wonderful holiday season!!

The Jacob Tree

Happy Aloha Friday! Have you gotten your Christmas tree yet? Is it decorated yet? If not, here's an idea for all of you Twilighters out there! I have created what I call "The Jacob Tree".
It is completely decorated with nothing but photos of Jacob (Taylor Lautner) from Twilight. I just had to make it because it's been on my mind for a few months... lol!! Anyway, I made this tree for my sweet and dear friend Linda!! She was an Edward fan but switched over to the wolves! I can surely see why!
I am still loving my Edward, but just love looking at Jacob! All you girls out there know what I mean!! =) So, I simply found photos online and shrunk them down to the size I needed it to be and made them into ornaments and placed them on the tree.
I wanted to keep the theme of Twilight so I stuck to the red, black and used some white satin edged ribbon for added decorations. I am in the process of making a tree for my friend Danell, I know she likes both Edward and Jacob so I'll have a mix of photos for her. Don't worry, I will be posting that for all of you too!!
Last but surely not least... I was just asked to join the Twilight Tuesday Challenge DT!! How awesome and exciting is that!! I'm sooooo very excited to start with them. The new challenges will begin the first Tuesday in January 2010, and there will be a whole new look for the blog, awesome challenges and so much more!! So for those of you who's a Twihard like me, get ready to participate with us!!
I'd really love to know what you think of my tree and I wish you a wonderful day!!

I just love all the different scents of the holidays, everything from peppermint to gingerbread! One of the things I look forward to in the mornings are the lattes that I get from Starbucks, they have their pumpkin spice latte, peppermint and gingerbread! Oh so yummy! Speaking of gingerbread here is a card I made with an image from Alota Rubberstamps. He comes from a collection called Christmas Cuties...isn't he cute!
I wanted to give this card a warm country-like flair so I used some gingham cardstock I found in my stash. I've also added some dew drops to the buttons on his clothes for a 3D effect and I also got to use my Martha Stewart gingerbread punch which matched him perfectly!
This card was made for the Alota Rubberstamps challenge over on Paper Craft Planet. The current challenge is to make anything Christmas, and you will have until Dec. 14th to enter your card or project for a chance to win the entire set of these cuties.
Thank you so much for all of the comments I have received these past few days as I know all of you are probably so very busy with the holidays and shopping. Each and every comment is so very appreciated!! Have a beautiful day!

Winter Wonderland

Happy hump day everyone! Hope you're enjoying the cool, crisp air that the season brings here in Hawaii. Most of you do have snow and live in areas that are freezing, so keep warm and be safe. I'll be sure to send some cyber-sunshine your way!! In the meantime grab a blanket and a cup of cocoa to get cozy with your computer to view my creations.
My first card for you is of Angel Emma. I've made this card for the Flutterby Wednesday challenge which is to stick with a Winter Theme. I just adore these angels, and had to create this card with pink of course!!
The last time I sponged on my background, it was just so horrible so instead of using a sponge, I used a sponge dauber. This actually gave me a better look since there are much smaller holes than the sponge.
I have also glittered her wings using silver stickles, then used my Martha Stewart star border punch to decorate the cardstock behind her, and used the little stars to decorate the background around my angel. Be sure to check out the rest of the creations from the team by clicking on each of their names: Ann, Cassie, Chris, Christine, Harriet, Heather, Karen, Kimberly, Kris, Kristie, Lelia, Michelle, Nancy, Nicola, Pam, and Stef.
My next card was created for today's challenge on the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge blog. I have used a cute and fun stamp called Holly Starshine. I love the names of these images!! The challenge this week is to create a card with snowflakes. I have tons of snowflakes and instead of adding so many I went for the least, just to see if you can see where they are, LOL!
I think this year I am really into creating with non traditional colors for Christmas. Could be because there are just so many cute accessories and papers out there. The snowflakes on my card were made with a martha stewart punch .
Last, I have glittered her wings with some stickles. I hope that you enjoyed looking at what I made today and that you are ready to participate in these challenges too! I can't wait to see what all of you will be making! Have a great day!

Good Tuesday morning! Time for another day of the Belles n' Whistles advent calendar giveaway!! Have you been enjoying all of the creations by the team? If you have not seen any yet, you must head there now and while you're there sign yourself up for a chance to win the goodie bag giveaway which is valued at $25.
What I have to share with you today is an advent calendar that I created all Sunday afternoon, late that night and early Monday morning. Yes, this really did take me some time to create but I just had to finish what I started. In the end, it was worth the wait!! The image I used is called Star of Bethlehem from Belles n' Whistles. All of these holiday stamps are just amazingly adorable and really tell a story at Christmas time.
When I made these drawers I had added 2 eyelets and ran red ribbon through them to create a handle. I have also numbered each drawer from 1-24 and kept the boxes in numerical order instead of mixing the numbers around as a normal advent calendar would be. I suppose I could mix the drawers up if I wanted to. Looks like I won't be making one of these for a while unless someone requested one.
Thanks so much for stopping by, have a great day!!

Welcome to a new challenge for Saturday Spotlight! The challenge is to create with flowers. This week team and I worked with digital images sponsored by Inktegrity. I had this adorable snowman! When I first saw him I immediately thought to make my card "Hawaii" Style.
So I kept the traditional colors for Christmas and was able to find the words Mele Kalikimaka from a rubberstamp that I got from a local stamp, scrap and clothing store called Taj Clubhouse.
I used my circle and scallop circle nestability and cuttlebug folder for the backing of the snowman. The printed paper is from Bo Bunny, flowers from Prima and the green branches are a Martha Stewart punch. Lastly, I added some light blue liquid applique dots to the scalloped circle. Hope you have a chance to create and participate in the challenge with us!

Anything Christmas

Happy Friday! The weekend has finally arrived! I love Christmas and being able to use all of my Christmas crafts that I have gotten throughout the years. The card I made for today is for the Alota Rubberstamps PCP Challenge! Every 2 weeks Alota Rubberstamps has a new challenge and this one is to create a card or project that has anything to do with Christmas. You can purchase this stamp HERE, be sure to check out the latest and cutest holiday stamps too! The new stamps is what the prize is for the winner!!
I wanted to incorporate at least 2 different prints of designer paper to give the card some dimension so I used a red and a green one with different items on them. Being able to use the white helped to separate the 2 and yet bring it all together. To embellish my card I have used my Martha Stewart leaf punch to represent the holly leaves on her apron and used a hole punch to create the holly berries. (Hope you're able to recognize it... LOL!)
Be sure to upload your creation to the Alota Paper Craft Planet Site before December 15th to have a chance at the awesome prize! Have a great day!

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle All The Way!!

It's Day 3 for the opening of the Belles n' Whistles Blog Advent Calendar! Have you been there from the start? If not, don't worry just be sure to head there each day for a chance at something yummy from Santa Summer!! Here is a card I made using one of the many cute stamps from the store called Jingle Bells. I had to have this stamp the first time I saw it! Well, I had to have them all the first time I saw them! LOL!
When making this card I tried to stay away from adding too many embellishments because the image and background paper is already quite detailed. With that in mind I went for the smaller items like the half backed pearls.
These add to the card but don't take away from your focal point. The next thing I really really wanted to use was ribbon, and to use it as a bow. But instead of one I added 2! It was a last minute decision and wasn't sure if I should leave it as 2 but figured it looked ok.
Anyway, just thought I'd give you a little bit of how I piece my card together depending on the type, and size of my stamp. If you were ever wondering what to add to your card, hopefully these tips will come in handy!! Have a wonderful day!!

Two In One

It's hump day and time for a challenge with Flutterby Wednesday and All That Scraps! How adorable is this stamp from All That Scraps, this is Heidi with Ornament. I decided to use her for both challenges to show you how versatile she can be. The challenge for Flutterby Wednesday is open, meaning you can just create a card with either a butterfly, fairy, pixie or angels. The challenge for All That Scraps is to create anything Christmas. To create the snowflake border around my oval nestability I used a Martha Stewart snowflake punch.
I also wanted to try and sponge the background instead of airbrushing it using some distress inks. I now see that I have to stick to my airbrushing instead. I really don't like that you can see how uneven the sponging is. I much rather see it smooth. LOL! Anyway I had to try it out.
Last, I added some glitter to her wings.
Be sure to check out what the Flutterby team and the ATS Wednesday Challenge team has created for more inspiration.
Last but not least, be sure to check out the Belles n' Whistles Blog as we have started our Advent Calendar and the giveaway of a $25 goodie bag each day!! Tomorrow's my turn to post for the advent calendar and hope to see you there! Have an awesome day!!

Tuesday, December 1, 2009

Starting today, be sure to check out the Belles n' Whistles Blog for a chance to win something every single day!! Each day a new window will be opened on the advent calendar and a $25 goodie bag will be given to one lucky person!!
Check it out now and put your name into the drawing!!

Enjoy Him While He's Here

It's time for a Copic Creations Challenge, this time we are coloring snowmen! So bring out your favorite snowman to create with to win a great prize that will be given to one lucky participant!
Here is a new snowman from Magnolia, they are just the cutest snowmen with the sweetest faces! I get my Magnolias from Roses on Paper, be sure to check the store for some of the latest Christmas Magnolias. Hurry since only a small selection is available!! You really have to enjoy these guys as they'll be around only for the month of December and they will melt away... only in Hawaii that is!! LOL! I've colored my snowman using C1. This is a very light gray that lightly outlines his body.
I've also used my MS Punch and SU Punch for the snowflakes, added some bling to the centers and used pure white flowersoft for the snow beneath him. Hope you're having a great day, can you believe it's December 1st! Okay, I really gotta make my Christmas list and get a move on!
