A Merry Melody

Happy Monday to you, and I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend! It's time to create a card for Christmas Stampin' All Year Long! It's been nice to see that there are so many wonderful color combinations for a non-traditional Christmas but the challenge this week is to create a card using traditional Christmas colors.
So, I've decided to use a stamp that I was not able to use last year. This image is from Whiff of Joy. I think she is such a cutie and just had to have it. =)

I really wasn't sure what to color the inside of the musical notes so I used some rhinestones to fill it and for some added shine. I also wanted to use some ribbon on the card but to try a new way of using it. This time, I just tied 2 knots in the ribbon but not pulled tightly all the way.

August OCS & Summer Social RAKs

Happy Saturday! Today I've got lots of fun things to share with you! I know all you Twilight Fans out there are very familiar with this Edward Stamp! This wonderful creation was given to me and made by Jamee, how AWESOME is this!! I LOVE Twilight if you haven't noticed (all the pics of Edward ). She colored and cut out the stamped images, and pulled some of her favorite quotes from the New Moon book. This is actually a count down calendar until the movie is out on November 20th. So from August until then, there is a quote that I can read each day! LOVE it girl, thank you!
Jamee will also be selling 2010 calendars and will include Edward and Jacob as you see here!

Here is the card I received from my one card swap partner Elena. Isn't she a cutie! Love that made the card with pink all over!

Back To School

It's time for In Style Stamp's Monthly Blog Hop!! This month we are headed back to school!! This is Jacob!! He sure is ready to head back to school! He's got his back pack strapped on and now all he has to do is pick up his crayons!! LOL! Just kidding. I am late on this post due to camera issues, but have borrowed one to get these pics for you now.
I've posted 2 pictures just so you could see that this was actually a backpack and not just another box. =) I also got a composition book and covered it to match the bag with Jacob on it.

School Days

Looks like school's back in session for everyone which means it's time to hit the books! This reminded me to want to use the papers I have just for the occassion and also to use the stamps that would match them. One of the stamps I have not yet used is Annika! She comes to us from The Greeting Farm and can be purchased HERE! I love all the stamps from this company and actually have all of them but not enough time to use them. LOL! Anyway, onto my card.
The papers I have come from the school stack made by DCWV. I love the bold colors and prints this company produced for this line. For the summer, bold colors work the best and one of my favorite color combos for the summer are red and orange. You may have seen quite a bit of that in few of my previous postings. =) So I colored her in those colors, cut her out, mounted her on an embossed piece of cardstock and used my scallop nestabilities to embellish.

I also added a bright yellow ribbon just to "tie" it all together! The school year will go by quick kiddos so enjoy and make the best of it! I hope all of you have a wonderful day and thanks so much for taking the time to leave me your sweet comments, they are all very appreciated!!

Up On The Rooftop and RAKs

Good morning! Here is the Christmas card I was to post yesterday but wasn't able to. The Challenge for Christmas Stampin' All Year Long is to create a card that is not the traditional card size, or you can make a card into a different shape such as a circle. I decided to take it to another level by making the card into a chimney on the roof top. Who says Tilda can't be our little Santa!
Well, to create this card I used a circle punch and mounted each layer on each other for a 3D look. Prior to that I edged the circles with a sponge and white kraft ink. Then used my MS Punch for the icicles. This Tilda is not a Christmas stamp but I think either a Valentine image or all occassion but I made her look Christmas-y. (Is that even a word??) Oh well.

So this is my card from the side. you can see it really is a card and that the circles are overlapping each other. To get the circles to appear popped up, I placed a piece of mounting tape under each one. Be sure to upload your card to the challenge HERE so we all can see your wonderful creations!

This Sunday I went to Denise's house and met up with Jamee, Kyoko and Linda for a small crafting day. Kyoko finally watched Twilight but I think she was having too much fun crafting that we may have to have her watch it again. lol! Here are the goodies that I got that day!! The first is a card that Jamee made for me a while back and I only had a chance to post that now. =(

Isn't is so cute and sweet! I really want to show you what she gave me on Sunday but will wait for Jamee to say when. You will LOVE what she made too!!

Below is a RAK I received from Linda! OMG, who could resist this, not me!! I just fell in love with all of these goodies! Linda printed pics of Edward on such awesome photo paper that they look like I took them with my own camera! LOVE him! Check out the cute folder she made and all the keychains too! Oh boy you spoil me girl!

My next RAK came from Denise! She had also given me a pack of pink cardstock from stampin' up as well as this bag of goodies! Wow, now I have to start using those for my projects! She really knows how to spoil me with all pink things! Hee hee!! =)

Last but definitely not least, is a RAK from Kyoko!! Wow again! Okay, now I really have to start creating more and using my craft items! How sweet of Kyoko to give me those pretty butterflies! Love butterflies and they are just perfect for my Flutterby Wednesday challenge! Do you see those colorful beads in the photo.., well I thought that was candy! Hey any one would say the same thing if you saw it in person. They are not dew drops either! It is a craft item that reminds me of dew drops though. =)

Days of Summer

Can you tell that I'm just loving Summer? Although it's hot, we've been so lucky to have trade winds! =) It's time for another Roses on Paper Challenge and we want to see you create a card with stamps that you can get from the store but also to include any kind of punches on your card and to choose a sketch from a challenge blog. I know there are tons of punches out there, and I can't wait to see what all of you will be making! The card I made uses Tilda and the flowers from the Summer collection. I have masked the flowers behind her to make it look like she is one entire stamp. Then I punched flowers and added them to each corner. My sketch came from the Just Magnolia Challenge blog.

This next card I have is created for my August OCS (one card swap). I've used a cutie from the third collection of the Gorjuss Girls. Summer Wheeling

I hope all of you are enjoying your weekend! I was one of the lucky ones to have a holiday on Friday and had taken a little blog break for a little R&R mainly to catch up on some sleep. It's amazing that I feel like I could still take a nap after sleeping for 10 hours! lol. Anyway, the card I have today was made because I just love this image and for a sketch challenge that I love to participate in weekly!! This is for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge.

Flutterby Fairy

Hello Blogland! Hope all of you are doing well! The card I have for you today was meant for yesterday's challenge on Flutterby Wednesday and also to introduce to you a brand new image from In Style Stamps of Fairy Ava. This month there will be a new line of fairies and available for purchase the last Friday of the month which is our normal blog hop days. I just love these fairies and how cute they are!! For those of you who have never seen these fairies and want to get some now click HERE! I love this Ava holding the sign because you can customize it to say anything you want, just like I did for a get well card.
For Flutterny Wednesday the challenge is to create a card and CASE it from another one of the design team members. So, I found a card using the layout from Ann. The card looks just like this but with different colors and a different stamp. =) To participate in the challenge all you need to do is find a card to CASE and be sure to use a butterfly or fairy on your card. This week I decided to use both and incorporated some butterflies from my Martha Stewart punch. To see what the rest of the DT has created, click on their names: Ann, Cassie, Chris, Christine, Danni, Harriet, Heather, Kim, Lelia, Michelle, Nancy, Nicola, Stef, and Taylor.

Thanks to those of you who gave me feedback on whether or not listing my copic pens were helpful. I will continue to list them for you . I know some have asked to group my pens together in a bunch and just snap a photo of them for each card, the only drawback is you won't really know what colors were used for what area. I may also just consider coloring one area then take photos step by step. We'll see. =)

A Fun Filled Day!!

Hello Everyone! On Saturday, Teri organized a day for the local bloggers to meet in person. What a great idea that was! In the photo, you can see all of us which totals up to about 35 of us!! Whoo Hoo!! Not only were we able to finally see each other in person, and talk story but Teri created 3 projects for us to create while there. To top that off, we also had the opportunity to shop with the 3 online stores: Roses on Paper, Little C's and Tamiko's!! I think only in Hawaii are you able to have a huge group like this. Now don't the rest of you want to live here in Hawaii with us! =)
One of the things that I was asked to do was a demonstration to color black hair using copic pens. First, I am not copic certified but have my own technique for coloring and the use of these pens. Since it was successful, I am in the process of doing tutorials so the rest of you out there can see my process.
It was so very nice to meet all of you in person and you are all just as sweet in person as on your blogs!
I hope that we can all get together like this again, maybe an early Christmas celebration?? We'll see!! =)

Do Not Open 'Til Christmas

Good Monday morning! It's your friendly reminder that Christmas is just around the corner...and I know it's hard to believe since the sun is shining brightly, temperatures are high, and the water is so cool and inviting. I've noticed that some of you have been creating cards for Christmas at that is awesome!! So, how many of you have gotten at least 5 done?

I've finally gotten a chance to use one of the many stamps that have never seen an inkpad before. This is a stamp from Hanna Stamps, it comes with all kinds of accessories and can be used for birthdays too.

This weekend I attended a gathering for local crafters, mainly for local bloggers and have pictures to share with you. It was so much fun meeting everyone outside of their blogs, and the funny thing is that you feel like you've known them longer than they have started their blogs. =)
I was also able to do a copic tutorial in person for everyone there and I think it was pretty successful and will probably post that here.

Time for another Copic Creations Challenge! Today's card uses a stamp from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design, and the challenge is to use hearts on your card. Somehow whenever I use reds, the color does not come out so good on a photo. I'll have to keep practicing I guess.
This little cutie is Emma, she is colored in red . For the hearts, it was hard to not keep it looking like a Valentine's Day card and I think it's ok, what do you think?

A Beautiful Day

It's hump day, and time for another Flutterby Wednesday! This week it is an open challenge so no sketch, or chosen colors, it's all up to you! So, because these aren't very often I decided to try and create a layout that was very simple just so that it will not easy distract from my focal point.
I have colored a stamp that's found in Susana's Custom Art and Card Design. Gotta love these cute stamps. I've got more of these cuties that I hope to share with you since things are pretty crazy here.

A TEDDY BEAR PICNIC

Good Tuesday morning! Are you always on the lookout for some new, and cute stamps? Well you are in for a real treat! The card I made today uses a new stamp from a new company called Belles n' Whistles. These new line of stamps are beautifully created by Elisabeth Bell and brought to us by none other than Summer of Roses on Paper!! This stamp is called Teddy Bear Picnic. I must tell you that I just love all of Elisabeth's work! She draws the cutest images! This month Summer has released 6 of the most adorable sets of stamps and you can get them all HERE!
All of these stamps are my favorite but I really wanted to make a card with this image since it's so perfect for summertime. I just love that she is having a picnic with her bears, reminds me of how my niece plays with her brand new doll house.

HOT HOT HOT!

Good Monday morning! Today I've got a few things to share with you. First, is a card I made for the Roses On Paper Challenge. The challenge is to create a card using these colors: Red, Orange and Brown. The first stamp that came to mind was Rescue Ian.
I just had to use this stamp because to me he matched it the most. The challenge calls for orange to be used. Well, I actually did use orange but it's more of a orange-yellow. The colors appear to have pulled more on the yellow side than the orange.

I just love popping my images giving them the 3D effect, so I popped the badge on his hat and mounted him on the white CS. I've also done the same thing to the stars. You'll have 2 weeks to create and upload your card to the challenge blog. Good luck and have fun with it! Be sure to check out the Roses On Paper Store for the newest shipment that just arrived!!

My next card was created for the Christmas Stampin' all Year Long Challenge. The challenge is to create a card using the technique called spotlighting. This is one of my favorite techniques.

This technique makes the image pop up with the coloring, and no need for the mounting tape. Since the image is a little bigger, I spotlighted in 2 areas.

Ready or Not

It's August and that means school is back in session for some students and soon for others. So I decided to make a bookmark using Janice from In Style Stamps. The card and the bookmark are not meant to be a matching set.
The card I made previously in another post but I had to create using this image again because she is so cute. I used designer paper that contains numbers with hopes that this bookmark will be used for a math book. Stay tuned as In Style Stamps has lots of new things for you this month! Trying To Read

Good morning! Today I have a card that I am so very excited to share with you. First, the image I used comes from a new digital image designer. Her name is Maurie (prefers Mo) and her site is called Mo's Digital Pencil. After viewing all the images she has I found a wizard! I love wizards for some strange reaon!! This image is called Trying to read. Mo has linked my card to this image on her blog. You can check it out HERE! Here is my try at coloring of this image. I was so scared to color any of her images but just could not resist!! I have used my copics to color the image.Thanks for everything Mo!! Looking forward to another wizard image! Thanks again for stopping by and for all of your much appreciated comments. I'd love to know what you think of the coloring too!

My Dog Ate My Homework

This card was meant for a challenge that had started yesterday with In Style Stamps but I was unable to complete the card due to the missing image.
I had already colored and cut out my image of Nate, and as I was just about done piecing it all together I just could not find him anywhere! I searched high and low for it and still nothing. The only thing I could conclude was that my puppy got a hold of it and chewed it to pieces... sure enough that was the case. It was too early in the morning to color another one so here is the new one.

Anyway, here is the card up close and I used the buttons in all 4 corners of my printed paper. Isn't this a cute image! I tried to get a picture of the sponging I did on the brown cardstock for a more rustic look and the fun part was tying the rope. The sketch I used is from Mojo Monday.
