You Bring Out The Happy In Me
This card is for Linda who I was partnered with for this month's One Card Swap (OCS). This swap is put together by my sweet friend Teri! It was so nice to finally talk with her over the phone yesterday, she and I have been so busy lately. We try to get together at least once a month but sometimes there is just not enough hours in the day. =) We are shooting for June!Anyway I really hope that Linda likes this card as much as I loved making it.
I took a close up of this image because of her purse. If you have this image you will know that there are 2 little hearts on the straps that hold her purse. Well I wanted to give it a little dimension and sparkle so I added a couple of pink blingy hearts. It was just perfect for it! Tuesday, May 26, 2009
Butterfly Anya
I chose to add brads to the center of my flowers as part of the challenge. I was so thrilled to finally use this stamp. I actually have a ton of stamps that need to be used and believe me... I have a ton of stamps! =) (Some of you know that already). I really love this color combination and am so happy that Basic Grey decided to put together a collection of these papers.
I have mounted Anya's hair on the card for an added effect. I had also used for the first time some raffia lace which I got from my sweet friend Rach. Thank you so much Rach, I love it!!Monday, May 25, 2009
A Joyful Birthday
Here is a birthday card that I made using a sweet image from Whiff of Joy. You can buy all of your Whiff of Joy stamps HERE. All the different images are found here, as well as everything else on this card except for the sentiment which is from Stampin' Up. The stamp I used is of a girl holding her cupcake and blowing a candle out to celebrate her special day. I have also used one of my most favorite nestabilities to cut her out with.
I think this shape really adds that special touch for it's uniqueness. I also added some light blue half pearls to make the image stand out better. I have also used some prima flowers to match the color of the papers and image. I love all the images that are created by Elisabeth Bell. She has the cutest and sweetest images out there. They are fun to color and use for any occassion. Shake Your "Booties"
I really wanted this card to be able to be used for either a baby girl or baby boy. This way if the parents don't want to know the sex of their baby until delivery, you at least gave a card that was not specific. =) I decided to go with lavendar and green. I try not to use shades of purple just because it is one of the more difficult colors to work with. Lavendar and shades of purple used to be my most favorite color and has taken the back seat to pink for several years now.
I really enjoy making cards that have just an image of something simple, it allows you to play with the background a little more in terms of design. I was able to use my nestabilities for the focal piece, then my top note die behind it. I have also added some pretty lavendar pearls to all 4 corners of the card to give it a sweeter look. Be sure to check out Alota for their newest stamps! Sunday, May 24, 2009
Have An "Ice" Day

This week's Christmas Stampin All Year Long challenge is #18, and Maria has provided us with a sketch to follow!! This is a fun and easy sketch to use. I found this sketch to be very easy to use and may even use it again to create more Christmas cards or on another card.
Here is my take on the sketch. I decided to use this cute little penguin from Whipper Snapper Designs. He looks so sad but so cute! Being in that cold puddle of slushy ice must be too cold. I enjoyed using this image as I popped up his hat and scarf for dimension and also added some crystal effects to the icy parts.
You can see the crystal effects better in this photo. I was also able to use my fiskars punch to create a border around the bottom paper going across the card. I hope you have a chance to join us for this challenge. Here are some of the projects created by the rest of the design team. Thanks for stopping by and for all of the wonderful and inspiring comments you leave for me. Hope you are enjoying your Memorial Day weekend! If time permits, I will be posting another creation today, otherwise I will see you on Tuesday!
Here are my card details:
Stamps: Whipper Snapper Designs, Sentiment (SU), Paper: Baja Breeze CS, Chocolate Chip CS, White CS, Holiday Treasures DSP (SU), Ink: Copics, Accessories: Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, SU Circle Punches, Fiskars Apron Lace punch, Nestabilities.

A League of Her Own
I wanted to make this card into something different and fun. So instead of going for a layout I drew and cut my own bowling pin and then traced it to create these pins as a background. To get the red stripes I simply cut red cardstock and glued it on.
The front pin is mounted on the other 2 pins and Barb is mounted on the front pin. (hope that makes sense..lol) I also added some crystal effects to the bowling ball to give it a realistic look. One thing I wasn't sure I wanted to do was add some glitter or a design to it just like some of the bowling balls out now so I kept it plain. Well whatever your plans are this memorial day weekend I hope you have lots of fun and take the time to remember those who served and continue to serve our country as well as our family. Have a wonderful Aloha Friday!! Thursday, May 21, 2009
Bundle of Joy
Happy Thursday everyone!! I wanted to post this card yesterday but there were just too many other things to share with you. So without further adieu here is one of the newest images from Stampavie! Perfect for baby showers, brand new parents, etc.
This card was made for a challenge that is going on at the Stampavie Blog which is to make a card or project using turquoise or light blue and brown and to use any stamp from Stampavie. If you'd like to join in on the fun you have until May 31st to upload your creation to this post.
When I first read that the color challenge included turquoise I was thrilled! Lately I am loving to work with this color, I'm not sure why but it could be that summer is just around the corner and it's a bold and bright color for the season. =) I didn't want to add too much to the card since the background paper is bright and stands out on it's own so I did a little paper piercing around the edges and added a few dew drops to accent. I then added some flowers to the corners of the image for definition. Yesterday was a bit hectic for me to get around to commenting on blogs but I will be getting around to that today! In the meantime, here are the card details.
Stampavie stamp, Chocolate Chip, Tempting Turquoise, white CS, SU Rainbow Sherbet DSP, copics, Prima Flowers, Dew Drops, SU tool kit
Many thanks for visiting me today and for the time you took to comment on my blog!! Hope to see you back tomorrow!!

Flutterby Butterfly
Welcome to another day for butterflies and fairies! Yes it's Wednesday and this week Danni has us creating a card with the use of 2 designer series papers.
So I chose to use shades of purple since I don't use this color very often. I used olive green as a contrast color for the purple and pink. I love these colors together, it's a great combo.
Besides using various shades of pinks and purples, I was very happy with this card because I was able to use 2 Stampin' Up sets that I have not brought out in such a long time. I will be posting more cards using Stampin' Up stamps ONLY. My plan is to create a card using only items from Stampin' Up at least once a week. Hope you are having a great day. Tuesday, May 19, 2009

Beary Cute
Well, onto my card for today. Here is a new image from Stampavie, aren't these bears cute?
Lately I have been making cards for quite a bit of newborns and here is one of them. Here is a card that I can add to my stash for when I need something right away. I just love the colors of turquoise and brown together. Speaking of these colors, there is a color challenge going on at the Stampavie Blog. All you have to do is create a card using a Stampavie stamp and use the colors of light blue, turquoise and brown and upload your card to that posting, HERE.
I will have my challenge card to show you tomorrow. Speaking of tomorrow... I have lots to share with you and hope you will be back to see it all! Be looking out in the month of June as that is my blogaversary month and you know what that means...you guessed it, BLOG Candy!! =)Sunday, May 17, 2009
Christmas Color Challenge
Here's my card and I chose to do a card layout designed by Maria Bell. This was a really fun sketch to use!! I used my nestabilities for the center of the card and used my cuttlebug folder for the base of the card as an accent.
Here is a close up look at the embossed base of the card and that I mounted the bear to make him look like he is jumping out of the box. Thank you everyone for stopping by and visiting my blog. Here are the details for my cad:Stamps: Penny Black
Paper: Chocolate Chop, Apricot and Sage CS, white CS
InK; Copics
Accessories: Vintage brads, Nestabililites, Cuttlebug folder, 1" circle punch, 1 1/4" square
punch, eyelets
One For The Boys
I decided to use Sheriff Ian since I have had him for a while and never used him for anything yet. He is a fun guy to color and create with. I was also able to use the rope ribbon that I got from Stampin Up a little while back. I think by using it I get a little more of that western look.
For a little dimension I cut out another hat and mounted it directly on the image. Next I added some jumbo eyelets and brads as an accent. Sweet Teddy
With that said, I just made this card for a baby girl.
I just thought this teddy bear was the cutest!! He's cute and yet traditional. I had also made a card for a baby boy but had to give that one out even before I could take a picture of it to show you. Are you wondering where I got him from?? He is from Alota Rubberstamps!! There are also other cute stamps besides this bear for baby.
I really wanted to create a sweet, soft look for this card and had to go with pink and brown. I also kept it pretty clean and simple so the focus would remain on the bear. I had to choose accessories that were not going to be over powering him and went with a bow around the neck and added some light pink half pearls in each of the 4 corners and one on the bow. Copic Creations Challenge #4: Blonde Hair
I decided to make a simple background for my card and just let the papers do the talking. LOL! I of course colored my Tilda with copics, and have made sure to tell you what pens I used to color her hair. That is Y00, Y15, and Y19. I have also use some shimmerz on her wings , did some faux stitching and dew drops in the corners.
Here is a close up of my card. You can see the faux stitching, and can see the shimmerz too! The card recipe will be at the bottom of this posting.Wednesday, May 13, 2009
Flutterby Fairy
I have had this cutie for a while now and decided to use her for this week's challenge. All of these fairies are so cute! She is from The Greeting Farm and you can purchase her and all other Greeting Farm sets HERE. To create my card, I decided to add some texture to the base of the card by using my new Sizzix Embossing folder. These folders are similar to the cuttlebug because it is used the same way and it's also different. The cuttlebug folders are slightly smaller and will not emboss the edges of a standard card, whereas the Sizzix embossing folders will emboss the entire piece of the front of the card.
I also have added a little dimension to the image itself by cutting out and mounting the hair of the angel as you can see in this photo here. I hope you have a chance to participate in this week's challenge and be sure to upload your creation to Danni's blog under this week's flutterby challenge. Thanks so much for sharing apart of your day with me!Tuesday, May 12, 2009
