Ian's A Star & Going Green

I'm back!! I needed a couple of days to do nothing...everything has just been so hectic lately and very busy. Since the weather has been very windy, rainy and cold there have been so many patients coming in to see their doctors for a cold or flu like symptoms which means we as medical staff need to keep healthy. Well, one thing that I was lucky enough to do was create a card for the challenge going on at The Greeting Farm. Marie has a challenge where we are to case a card created by Kristine, and she has done a wonderful job!! It's no wonder her card was chosen to be cased! =) I chose to use Skater Ian and colored him with my copics, added some stickles to his skateboard in black and some orange. I also used a little bling for the corners of the image and the card to accent and added a glittered star to match the star on his shirt. The paper I used is from stampin' up, as well as the star punches and grosgrain ribbon. I have also used the Martha Stewart Punch to add a border to the bottom.

This second card I created using stamps that I just received from Helene at Alota Rubberstamps! I love St. Patrick's Day, because it's a fun day but I think more so because it is the day my parents were married!! Soon it will be green day! Wow, the days are flying by so fast!!! I don't come across too many St Patrick's Day stamps so when I got this stamp and a few others ( I will be showing this month) I had to create with it right away! Here is the finished product of one. To create this card I colored the image with my copics, used a small heart punch and pieced the hearts together to create the shape of a 4 leaf clover. I then added some green brads to hold them in place and later mounted them with dimensionals for a 3D look. Then I decided to use my photo corner punch from Stampin; up! to highlight the image. The last thing I did was layer the image. The DP matched so perfectly with the colors scheme I was looking for and it's from Basic Grey called Boxer. This stack is great to use for making masculine cards. If you like it, I got it here. One Layer Wonder

Get your Pink Cat stamps out ladies, here's another challenge hosted by the design team! This time the challenge is hosted by fellow DT member Vicki. The challenge is held over at the planet. You must create a one layer card, which is not as easy as it sounded--not for me anyway.
I like this challenge because it gets your juices flowing!! I used Lily the leaping fairy, colored her with my copics, and sponged the sky background, and used my scor-pal to create the diagonal lines on the card. I filled the center of the flower with stickles.

This next card was made for one of the High Hopes Sketches and I only had a chance to post it today. Although the challenge for this sketch is over, just thought you might want to see it anyway. I really love this stamp and how she is sewing up her teddy. This card sketch was made by Katharina. I colored my image with my copics, and got the sentiment from one ofmy CC Designs sets. I thought it was just perfect! =) I then used my cuttlebug folder to emboss a part of the card. All other parts of the card are from Stampin' Up.
I did some faux stitching, and added some bling to the area of where the words are. I also added white fun flock to create the wings and some dazzling diamonds for bling. I love how it turned out looking like it was a group of feathers.

Leap On Over!!

Good Monday morning and welcome to the last day of our sneak peeks but the first day to purchase your very own set of Enchanted Lily stamps from Pink Cat Studio!! This last image is the leaping fairy. She was the first fairy image created, and she was part of a contest last month. She is perfect to use either standing or flying. I chose to place her on an origami box I created and learned over on SCS.

I used my nestabilities to frame the image, colored with my copics and added some stickles for a glittery effect. Pinks were the perfect color for this image, I find that these fairies are so cute and sweet that they should for the most part be colored in pastel colors. =) Here is a pic of all the stamps in that set. Pink Cat Is Fairy Sweet!

It's Day #2 for the sneak peeks of Enchanted Lily and today the design team and I have 2 new images to show you. The first image I have here is of enchanted Lily in a flower Lily and her frog friend on a lilypad--how appropriate!! =) I used my nestabilities for the image and SU circle punches for the sentiment. I also did some faux stitching on the edge of the card. (I got lazy and just didn't feel like sewing to make the card.)
Lily's wings are glittered with some dazzling diamonds and I added some crystal lacquer over the frog to give him a wet look.

This next card I decided to create a ladybug to represent Lily as a Ladybug. She is so cute sitting on that mushroom with her little ladybug friend. I guess this could pass as my first round card. =) Anyway, to create the swing effect of the wings, I simply added 2 brads at the top; one on each wing. Just slide the wings in opposite directions of each other and the inside of the card is revealed!

Such an easy card to make! Just take your Stampin' Up! circle punches and randomly place them on the wings of the lady bug, cut out a smaller black piece of cardstock for the head , thin strips of black cardstock for the antennae, and I used my Heart Trio Punch from Stampin up and used the smallest heart and glued it to the tip of the antennae.

Swing By Sometime!

Good morning all!! Today I can finally show you one of the newest stamps that Melissa has created for Pink Cat Studio of the Enchanted Lily collection. Here is Lily on the swing! I love this image (well...I love them ALL) especially when she was made as a blinkie for the sneak peeks!! =) I chose to follow a sketch for Mojo Monday. The one thing I forgot to add to my card was the other leaves and branch...now it looks incomplete. =( Well, I have already uploaded my card here and the watermark was in place.

I love these colors together and the DP is one of my favorites! This set is just perfect to create anything with especially if you have a sweet little one who loves princess things. All the little girlies I know just love anything princess-like. There are so much more to come in the next 2 days!!

Who's Up For a Challenge?

I was unable to post my cards yesterday, blogger was not cooperating with me so here is what was supposed to be for Monday. It's time now for another Roses on Paper Challenge!! Fellow DT member Lim, has set the theme of Love and Friendship. So, I chose to do a card for friendship. I had to create with colors that were not used for Valentines. This is the newest line of stamps that Summer has brought into the store called The Greeting Farm. I just adore these stamps!!! My fave!!! This set is called Pretty Head Anya and she has her cute little doggie friend with her. I used my favorite nestabilities to create the card and added some liquid pearls for accents! =)

My layout was inspired by a Mojo Monday sketch. I love this sketch, it really was so much fun to create with this set.

Here, I have also decided to create the inside of the card and I used all the same embellishments as I did on the front of the card.

This next challenge I have is for Alota Rubberstamps on Paper Craft Planet. This challenge is hosted by fellow DT member Birgit. She chose to do an inspiration challenge from this photo. So here is my card for the challenge.

I decided to go with the colors in the photo. I love this image, she could have also been used for Valentine's Day. Instead of coloring her clothes I paper pieced it as well as the umbrella.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!! I finally get to use my CC Designs set called Hey Cupid!! I loved making this type of card because it will give such inspiraton and it's just fun.

So here are the supplies I used for this card. First, I used my heart nestabilities, then colored my picture with copics. The paper comes from Stampin' Up, as well as ribbon and punches.

This is a medium sized card that can be found in the Stampin' Up! catalog. I also used dazzling diamonds for glitter. The clouds I used fun flock to give it a softer appearance It's a very busy day today. Hope you have a great Valentine's Day and Thanks for stopping by!!=)

You Rock!

I finally had a chance to create and upload my card for the very first Sketch Challenge for Club Anya. If you'd like to participate too, you must have your entry done by this friday and you are good to go! I decided to use Farmer Anya from the set called Rock the Farm. This is one of my favorite Anya stamps and what made it more fun was the use of the sketch. =)
I used one of my flower punches and added the flowers along with Dew Drops as an embellishment.

I also used the cuttlebug embossing folder to give the card a little more dimension. It is pretty straight forward for most sketches. It is a quick posting today I must utilize my afternoon to clean up as we will be in and out over the weekend and no time to do anything.

A Great Catch!

Happy Wednesday! Don't you just love these stamps from the Greeting Farm, they are so adorable!! These stamps are from a set called Sweet Deal. I have created a card where the closure is a buckle.

Here is a close up of the buckle and a close up of the bling on the antennae of the butterflies.

This is the inside of the card with a sentiment from a set called Rock The Farm. Since there are only a few days just before Valentine's Day, I felt I should make a few more of these cards.

Heart To Heart

Good morning! Boy was it a challenge making a card with a new puppy, she is just like a little baby getting into all kinds of things. I guess I forgot what it was like to take care of Allie when she was just a puppy too. Anyway, I managed to create this card to participate in the Alota Rubber stamps Challenge on Paper Craft Planet. There is still time to play, you have until Valentine's Day to upload a card or project there.

Here I colored the girls in colors for Valentine's Day and paper pieced the heart. I have also added some liquid pearls to the girl in the red dress for a different print. I thought of coloring their shoes in the same color as their clothes but chose black for contrast. This stamp is actually one of my favorites because it can be used for other occassions like Christmas, Mother's Day, or a card for sisters and friends. I have also added an edging of stickles for a different look. It's a quick post today, so have a great day!!

Our House Grew By Four Feet!

Good morning everyone! What a busy weekend it was. This weekend I met up with the girls at TAJ Clubhouse in Ward Warehouse and hung out talking about craft stuff as usual. When we were on our way out, Bryan said he had to show me something over at the Pet Spot. So I thought ok, we're just going to check out some puppies since we were looking around here and there for about 1 year now. As you can tell by this post we got a sweet little puppy Saturday night. Bryan said he watched her for about 20 minutes playing with her sister (who also has a new home and a new family) and for the first time in that one year we were looking, this time he said "there's just something about this one, and her cute face." That is when I knew he couldn't let her go. =) That just melted my heart! Of course she melts my heart!!

For those of you who already knew of her and came to see her, she did not have a name. Well, just earlier this evening, we finally have a name for her. I'd like to introduce to all of you, our sweet little SOPHIE, our sweet Silky Terrier!!! I love that name for her. While talking to my sister over the phone, she and I said, let's say the first name that comes to mind. Something sweet to match her. Would you believe we said the same name at the same time!! We knew this just had to be her name.

Oh , I am soooo lucky to have her, she is adorable and soooo sweet!

Now, most of you know that I have a Yorkie Terrier who lives with my parents. She is whom I wrote the Valentine poem for. Well, I am so afraid that she will hate me because I have a new puppy living with me. I won't see Allie until Sophie gets all of her shots. I hope that if they are not friends at the first visit, it will be the next.

Here she is having dinner. So far she is not picky about what she likes but we'll see as time goes on. For those of you who'd like to meet her, let me know when you are free, but not until after all her shots are done. True As True Can Be

I am so in love with these adorable images from the Greeting Farm! I know you love them too. Well, I have Dorothy Anya and her little dog Toto and turned it into a Valentine's Day card. When I saw this image I immediately thought of my sweet little Allie, she is my little Yorkie terrier. She is so loving, sweet and friendly. Isn't it amazing how well our pets know us? They know what we feel and sometimes what we're thinking. She has been my little sweetheart for almost 11 years come May this year! =)
As mentioned in my last post, there is a Valentine contest going on. You must make a Valentine card with stamps from the Greeting Farm and come up with a poem for your card. Since I love my Allie so much, I wrote a poem about her and felt the card was perfect for the both of us. Here it is...

You always make me happy

You know when I am sad

Will You Be Mine?

Who doesn't know and love these cuties? I adore them! For those of you who don't know them, it's Ian and Anya from The Greeting Farm. Isn't this a cute image for Valentine's Day?
If you love and have these stamps, start inking them up to participate in Marie's Valentine's contest going on now until Saturday February 7th. So I made my card and decided to write a poem for Valentine's Day in the style of a Haiku. A Haiku comes from Japan. You write the poem based upon the number of syllables in each line. The first line must have only 5 syllables, the second line only 7 syllables, and the 3rd line only 5 syllables. So here is my Haiku:

It's Valentine's Day

I love you with all my heart

Forever we'll be

So, what do you think about that? I say, not too bad...after all it only took me a couple of minutes to come up with it. lol. Anyway, I'd love for you to create a Valentine poem by writing a Haiku and leaving it in this post. I can't wait to see what all of you come up with. =)

ROP Challenge #5

Good morning! It's time for another Roses on Paper Challenge, and this time it is fellow DT member Peta who came up with the challenge. This next challenge is to create a card or project using the masking technique and to have roses somewhere it. So, I have masked the oak tree from Magnolia behind my Stampavie image. This was a fun challenge since I have not really used this technique in a while. My roses are the pink flowers in the center of the white.

The other thing I added is some flower soft in the tree to simulate flowers for Spring. You can find all products here at Roses On Paper! Can't wait to see what all of you will make!

Get Well Anya

There are so many people sick during the holidays so I thought I would create a little something to help a friend who just got sick. This is also the perfect time for me to use Nurse Anya! It is also my very first Anya. =) I would normally fill the tin with simple things like packets of cough drops, pack of kleenex etc, but decided to use a smaller tin and fill it with a thermometer and probe covers. Would you believe she has no thermometer in the house! LOL. So this is a keeper for her and she gets to store it in the tin!!

Here is a side view of the tin. There is so much more going on today than just creating with your Anya stamps... check out the new blog for Anya and more where there are fun and exciting games, giveaways and the reveal of the mystery Anya! Whoo Hoo!! Can't wait for that!

Besides the hype for Anya, there are other things going on now such as the Challenge for Alota Rubberstamps on Paper Craft Planet. This started yesterday and will continue for 2 more weeks. The challenge there is to create a Valentine's Day card or create a 3-D item for it to count as 2 entires, but it must be a 3-D item! How fun is that! I have my thinking cap on and ready to face the challenge ahead! =)
