Time for Summer!

Good morning everyone! It's another day for a sneak peek of the new Hanna Stamps to be released on Monday!! This is Riley and he is ready to have some fun in the sun! Don't you just love these Riley stamps, they are so cute and unique. This is my first post for the day, please scroll down to see the other post from Instyle stamps.
When I created my card I decided to use a sketch from Splitcoast. The sketches are a great tool to use when you feel you need a little inspiration. I just had to use turquoise and orange together because it's such a great combo for summer.
I tried to get a close picture of Riley and his inner tube to show you that I had used some crystal effects to make it shine. This is a perfect sized stamp that you could create cards with ease. I think I will try and make some for friends. =)
Remember to check out my other posts for today. Just scroll down.

Hope you are having a great week, and I will see you on your blogs!

You Bring Out The Happy In Me

Hello blogland! I had planned to show you 2 cards today but I just had to get to bed early so I will have that for you tomorrow. Well, I have had this set of stamps since they were first introduced to us and only had a chance to use them now. They are adorable and so much fun to color.
This card is for Linda who I was partnered with for this month's One Card Swap (OCS). This swap is put together by my sweet friend Teri! It was so nice to finally talk with her over the phone yesterday, she and I have been so busy lately. We try to get together at least once a month but sometimes there is just not enough hours in the day. =) We are shooting for June!
Anyway I really hope that Linda likes this card as much as I loved making it.
I took a close up of this image because of her purse. If you have this image you will know that there are 2 little hearts on the straps that hold her purse. Well I wanted to give it a little dimension and sparkle so I added a couple of pink blingy hearts. It was just perfect for it!
If you would like to participate in the one card swap, all you need to do is head over to Teri's blog and sign up. As a participant, all you send is a card and nothing else. This is a fun and wonderful way to meet new bloggers. =) Hope you have the chance to join us and who knows maybe you and I will be partners for next month!!
Many thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Butterfly Anya

Can you believe it's Wednesday already! I love when we have a 3 day weekend because the week seems much shorter. It is also Flutterby Wednesday,#59 today Danni has decided to have us use either eyelets or brads on your card. This week's featured design team member is Harriet. Click on her name to see all of her wonderful creations.
I chose to add brads to the center of my flowers as part of the challenge. I was so thrilled to finally use this stamp. I actually have a ton of stamps that need to be used and believe me... I have a ton of stamps! =) (Some of you know that already). I really love this color combination and am so happy that Basic Grey decided to put together a collection of these papers.
I have mounted Anya's hair on the card for an added effect. I had also used for the first time some raffia lace which I got from my sweet friend Rach. Thank you so much Rach, I love it!!
I have not seen these anywhere in the stores but hope that they will start to bring these in.
Hope all of you have a great day and I look forward to seeing all of your flutterby creations. To participate, just click HERE and post your entry, or if you are uploading to SCS or PCP please use the code FBW. Many thanks for your much appreciated comments and for stopping by!

A Joyful Birthday

Good morning everyone! Please scroll down to see my second post for the day. I have decided to start making birthday cards since majority of my friends and family have birthdays that begin in the summer and go on until the end of the year. I have friends and relatives that have birthdays in the beginning part of the year but not as much as summer or winter. I figured since I am making Christmas cards throughout the year I should take the time to make birthday cards as well.
Here is a birthday card that I made using a sweet image from Whiff of Joy. You can buy all of your Whiff of Joy stamps HERE. All the different images are found here, as well as everything else on this card except for the sentiment which is from Stampin' Up. The stamp I used is of a girl holding her cupcake and blowing a candle out to celebrate her special day. I have also used one of my most favorite nestabilities to cut her out with.
I think this shape really adds that special touch for it's uniqueness. I also added some light blue half pearls to make the image stand out better. I have also used some prima flowers to match the color of the papers and image. I love all the images that are created by Elisabeth Bell. She has the cutest and sweetest images out there. They are fun to color and use for any occassion.
Here are the card details:
Stamps: Whiff of Joy (willow with cupcake), Stampin' Up sentiment (Small Sayings)
Paper: Basic Grey Wisteria, Eggplant CS, Neenah CS
Inks: Copics
Thank you for stopping by and starting your day with me!! Hope to see you tomorrow!

Shake Your "Booties"

Hope all of you had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend here in the U.S. It's Tuesday and back to work for all of us. I wish we always had a 3 day weekend, 2 days are just too short. Anyway, I have 2 posts for today and here is my first. It's a cute and sweet little pair of booties that can be used for any gender and can be found at Alota Rubber Stamps. Lately Alota has come up with several baby stamps that I have used and made to give to friends and relatives.
I really wanted this card to be able to be used for either a baby girl or baby boy. This way if the parents don't want to know the sex of their baby until delivery, you at least gave a card that was not specific. =) I decided to go with lavendar and green. I try not to use shades of purple just because it is one of the more difficult colors to work with. Lavendar and shades of purple used to be my most favorite color and has taken the back seat to pink for several years now.
I really enjoy making cards that have just an image of something simple, it allows you to play with the background a little more in terms of design. I was able to use my nestabilities for the focal piece, then my top note die behind it. I have also added some pretty lavendar pearls to all 4 corners of the card to give it a sweeter look. Be sure to check out Alota for their newest stamps!
Here are the details to my card:
Paper: DCWV Nursery (Baby Boy), Certainly Celery CS, Amethyst CS, White CS
Inks: Copics
Accessories: Ticket corner punch, Lavendar half pearls, nestabilities, cuttlebug folder
Thank you for stopping by and for all of your inspiring comments!! They really make my day!
Hugs, Jodi =)

Have An "Ice" Day

It's time for another Christmas card everyone!! Can you believe that it is almost June? Well, before we all know it, it will be time to shop for the holidays.. I sure hope you have started to make your Christmas cards then at least you will have one thing less to think about. If you have not started yet, you should start now!

This week's Christmas Stampin All Year Long challenge is #18, and Maria has provided us with a sketch to follow!! This is a fun and easy sketch to use. I found this sketch to be very easy to use and may even use it again to create more Christmas cards or on another card.

Here is my take on the sketch. I decided to use this cute little penguin from Whipper Snapper Designs. He looks so sad but so cute! Being in that cold puddle of slushy ice must be too cold. I enjoyed using this image as I popped up his hat and scarf for dimension and also added some crystal effects to the icy parts.

You can see the crystal effects better in this photo. I was also able to use my fiskars punch to create a border around the bottom paper going across the card. I hope you have a chance to join us for this challenge. Here are some of the projects created by the rest of the design team. Thanks for stopping by and for all of the wonderful and inspiring comments you leave for me. Hope you are enjoying your Memorial Day weekend! If time permits, I will be posting another creation today, otherwise I will see you on Tuesday!

Here are my card details:

Stamps: Whipper Snapper Designs, Sentiment (SU), Paper: Baja Breeze CS, Chocolate Chip CS, White CS, Holiday Treasures DSP (SU), Ink: Copics, Accessories: Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, SU Circle Punches, Fiskars Apron Lace punch, Nestabilities.

A League of Her Own

It's Friday, and it's a long weekend!!! Did you plan out your weekend, and maybe include something new and fun to do? How about going out for a little bowling? I LOVE to bowl, it's fun and a great challenge. I know I will never be in a league or come home with trophies like my dad did when he was younger (I'm no where near that good! LOL!) but it's fun to do every so often. When I first saw this image of Barb from In Style Stamps, these were my first thoughts. =)
I wanted to make this card into something different and fun. So instead of going for a layout I drew and cut my own bowling pin and then traced it to create these pins as a background. To get the red stripes I simply cut red cardstock and glued it on.
The front pin is mounted on the other 2 pins and Barb is mounted on the front pin. (hope that makes I also added some crystal effects to the bowling ball to give it a realistic look. One thing I wasn't sure I wanted to do was add some glitter or a design to it just like some of the bowling balls out now so I kept it plain. Well whatever your plans are this memorial day weekend I hope you have lots of fun and take the time to remember those who served and continue to serve our country as well as our family. Have a wonderful Aloha Friday!!

Bundle of Joy

Happy Thursday everyone!! I wanted to post this card yesterday but there were just too many other things to share with you. So without further adieu here is one of the newest images from Stampavie! Perfect for baby showers, brand new parents, etc.

This card was made for a challenge that is going on at the Stampavie Blog which is to make a card or project using turquoise or light blue and brown and to use any stamp from Stampavie. If you'd like to join in on the fun you have until May 31st to upload your creation to this post.

When I first read that the color challenge included turquoise I was thrilled! Lately I am loving to work with this color, I'm not sure why but it could be that summer is just around the corner and it's a bold and bright color for the season. =) I didn't want to add too much to the card since the background paper is bright and stands out on it's own so I did a little paper piercing around the edges and added a few dew drops to accent. I then added some flowers to the corners of the image for definition. Yesterday was a bit hectic for me to get around to commenting on blogs but I will be getting around to that today! In the meantime, here are the card details.

Stampavie stamp, Chocolate Chip, Tempting Turquoise, white CS, SU Rainbow Sherbet DSP, copics, Prima Flowers, Dew Drops, SU tool kit

Many thanks for visiting me today and for the time you took to comment on my blog!! Hope to see you back tomorrow!!

Flutterby Butterfly

Good morning everyone, this is my second post for the day. Please scroll down to see the new challenge for Pink Cat Studio.
Welcome to another day for butterflies and fairies! Yes it's Wednesday and this week Danni has us creating a card with the use of 2 designer series papers.
So I chose to use shades of purple since I don't use this color very often. I used olive green as a contrast color for the purple and pink. I love these colors together, it's a great combo.
Besides using various shades of pinks and purples, I was very happy with this card because I was able to use 2 Stampin' Up sets that I have not brought out in such a long time. I will be posting more cards using Stampin' Up stamps ONLY. My plan is to create a card using only items from Stampin' Up at least once a week. Hope you are having a great day.

Jodi's Geometry Challenge

Hello everyone! It's time for another challenge from Pink Cat Studio and this time I am your hostess! Please read lthe challenge description from Melissa. I sure hope you will join us!!=)
Jodi’s Geometry Challenge Challenge Description
The challenge is to create a card using basic geometric shapes. Your card must be rectangular in shape and you must use 2 different patterned papers, one cut in the shape of a circle and the other in the shape of a square. So we have a rectangle, a circle and a square. You must also use a Pink Cat Studio stamp as the main image for the card. You can use stamps from other companies as well. So these are the minimum requirements for the card. You can add more shapes and papers as well as any embellishments you would like so the possibilities are endless.
Date the challenge ends: Sunday May 31st, 5 pm EST
Requirements: A Pink Cat Studio stamp must be used as the main stamp on the card. It is okay to use stamps from other companies as well. To be eligible for the prize you must leave a comment in the challenge post on the Pink Cat Studio blog. In your comment provide a link to your card. Your card can either be displayed on your blog or in an online gallery. You may enter only 1 project for this challenge.
Prize: This contest will be judged by the design team. Since this is Jodi’s challenge, she will select her 3 favorite cards and then the DT will vote for a winner.
On June 1st, the winner will be announced on the PCS blog. The winner will receive a grab bag of Pink Cat Studio stamps. Some cards from the challenge may be displayed on the PCS blog.
What an awesome prize from Melissa!! Hurry and get your Pink Cat stamps out to join in on the fun! =)
When I made my card, I first had to choose which stamp to use. Since my most favorite one from the Lily at the beach set is with Lily on the turtle, I had to use it!! I wanted to use this image in a way that I never had used it and decided to take her off of the turtle and place her on the sentiment.
If you look at the original stamp, Lily's hands are on the back of the turtle's shell. So I drew a piece of the shell and added it to the turtle and colored it with my copics. I think it turned out okay. Next, I used some crystal lacquer over the shell to make it look shiny.
Here are the card details:
Paper: Tempting Turquoise CS, Neenah White CS, Only Orange CS, Rainbow Sherbet DSP

Beary Cute

Can you believe it's already the middle of May? Time sure does fly by very quickly. I was talking with a co-worker yesterday who told me that she starts her Christmas shopping in the month of July. I was rather shocked since I am one of those who says they will start shopping early but end up shopping either right after Thanksgiving or in December. We'll see what happens this year!
Well, onto my card for today. Here is a new image from Stampavie, aren't these bears cute?
Lately I have been making cards for quite a bit of newborns and here is one of them. Here is a card that I can add to my stash for when I need something right away. I just love the colors of turquoise and brown together. Speaking of these colors, there is a color challenge going on at the Stampavie Blog. All you have to do is create a card using a Stampavie stamp and use the colors of light blue, turquoise and brown and upload your card to that posting, HERE.
I will have my challenge card to show you tomorrow. Speaking of tomorrow... I have lots to share with you and hope you will be back to see it all! Be looking out in the month of June as that is my blogaversary month and you know what that guessed it, BLOG Candy!! =)
I'd like to say a huge thank you to all of you who take the time to visit me and leave such wonderful comments that make me smile!! I appreciate all of you! I will leave you with the details of my card. Have a wonderful day!

Christmas Color Challenge

This is my second post of the day, please scroll down to see the first posting.
This week over at the Christmas Stampin All Year Long site, Maria has us creating a card using 3 colors. These colors are Sage, Chocolate and Apricot. These are not your typical colors for Christmas but somehow it still gives that warm feeling.
Here's my card and I chose to do a card layout designed by Maria Bell. This was a really fun sketch to use!! I used my nestabilities for the center of the card and used my cuttlebug folder for the base of the card as an accent.
Here is a close up look at the embossed base of the card and that I mounted the bear to make him look like he is jumping out of the box. Thank you everyone for stopping by and visiting my blog. Here are the details for my cad:
Stamps: Penny Black
Paper: Chocolate Chop, Apricot and Sage CS, white CS
InK; Copics
Accessories: Vintage brads, Nestabililites, Cuttlebug folder, 1" circle punch, 1 1/4" square
punch, eyelets

One For The Boys

It's time for another Roses on Paper Challenge ! For the next 2 weeks the challenge will be to create a card for a guy. I know I never seem to find it easy to create masculine cards so this was good challenge for me.
I decided to use Sheriff Ian since I have had him for a while and never used him for anything yet. He is a fun guy to color and create with. I was also able to use the rope ribbon that I got from Stampin Up a little while back. I think by using it I get a little more of that western look.
For a little dimension I cut out another hat and mounted it directly on the image. Next I added some jumbo eyelets and brads as an accent. To participate in the Roses On Paper Challenge Blog, click HERE. Thanks so much for stopping by and for all of your sweet and thoughtful comments that mean so much!
Here are my card details:

Sweet Teddy

The weekend is finally here, and I hope all of you are enjoying it! I have no set plans for the weekend but I sure hope to have some time to catch a good movie and relax. Lately I have been needing cards for newborns and usually have to create them at the very last minute. Luckily this year I had a stash of about 6 cards for newborn boys and girls!! I never have a stash of cards. Looks like this year is the year for the boys, with a couple of girls here and there. =)
With that said, I just made this card for a baby girl.
I just thought this teddy bear was the cutest!! He's cute and yet traditional. I had also made a card for a baby boy but had to give that one out even before I could take a picture of it to show you. Are you wondering where I got him from?? He is from Alota Rubberstamps!! There are also other cute stamps besides this bear for baby.
I really wanted to create a sweet, soft look for this card and had to go with pink and brown. I also kept it pretty clean and simple so the focus would remain on the bear. I had to choose accessories that were not going to be over powering him and went with a bow around the neck and added some light pink half pearls in each of the 4 corners and one on the bow.
Speaking of Alota Rubberstamps, head on over to Paper Craft Planet as the new challenge has started today! All you need to do is create a Father's Day card and upload it there. The winner will receive a wonderful prize from Helene at Alota. =)
Thanks for stopping by and sharing your weekend with me!

Copic Creations Challenge #4: Blonde Hair

It's finally Friday, can't wait for the weekend to begin! It's also time for another Copic Creations Challenge. This challenge is to create a card and color the hair of your image blonde. I decided to use my butterfly Tilda since it is the latest collection from Magnolia. Be sure to purchase your Magnolia stamps HERE.
I decided to make a simple background for my card and just let the papers do the talking. LOL! I of course colored my Tilda with copics, and have made sure to tell you what pens I used to color her hair. That is Y00, Y15, and Y19. I have also use some shimmerz on her wings , did some faux stitching and dew drops in the corners.
Here is a close up of my card. You can see the faux stitching, and can see the shimmerz too! The card recipe will be at the bottom of this posting.
Here is a sweet and awesome RAK that I received from my sweet friend Michelle! Thank you so much for thinking of me, I love everything! Well, I really must get to bed.
By the way Joy and Iris have some delish candy...go check it out!
Thanks for stopping by! Here are the details to my card:

Flutterby Fairy

Just so you aren't confused by my posting, today IS Thursday. This is my card for Flutterby Wednesday which I am posting today since something went wrong with my camera prior to me taking the pictures of the card. Luckily it was a quick and easy fix! So, without further adieu, here is my card. This week's challenge is to create a card using a butterfly or a fairy with a sentiment on the card. Sounds easy enough right?
I have had this cutie for a while now and decided to use her for this week's challenge. All of these fairies are so cute! She is from The Greeting Farm and you can purchase her and all other Greeting Farm sets HERE. To create my card, I decided to add some texture to the base of the card by using my new Sizzix Embossing folder. These folders are similar to the cuttlebug because it is used the same way and it's also different. The cuttlebug folders are slightly smaller and will not emboss the edges of a standard card, whereas the Sizzix embossing folders will emboss the entire piece of the front of the card.
I also have added a little dimension to the image itself by cutting out and mounting the hair of the angel as you can see in this photo here. I hope you have a chance to participate in this week's challenge and be sure to upload your creation to Danni's blog under this week's flutterby challenge. Thanks so much for sharing apart of your day with me!
