Jen's LCWC #2

Here it is for week #2...Jen's Sketch Challenge!! Check the info out HERE. This is my entry for the challenge. Like Teri, I chose to use a stamp from Whipper Snapper Designs. They have the cutest stamps!! =) I got inspired to use dots from Marie, another creative stamper!! These challenges are fun, and also helps you to use the things you have sitting around just waiting to be used.

I have decided to use this cute bear (never used before) and colored him using my watercolor brush and SU inks.

Mounted him to give it dimension. I love mounting things!!

I was able to find my band aid stamp and use this as a background to match this stamp. Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas in July and Candy!!

Happy hump day! Somehow I always feel I need to create a card for Christmas during the month of July. Maybe I should be making more than just one card, Christmas will just sneak up on me every year and I find myself just jamming through the wee hours of the morning trying to create as many cards as I can before the sun starts to rise!! (Anyone out there know what I mean?) Well, let's go to the card. I have chosen to use my cuttlebug folders again, and here I have used another border. This one reminded me of holly berries, so I added some bling to the embossed circles. Just above that I have used my scor-pal and made 2 lines to separate but mainly to accent as well. Then, it looks like I used my Swiss Dots cuttlebug folder, but I did not. There is a border that looks like the swiss dots but only about 1 inch in width. That folder makes it easier to emboss areas that one regular sized folder can't.

Here you may be able to see the background that looks like the regular sized Swiss Dots folder. I used my Whipper Snapper christmas stamp and colored with some copics, stampin' up pens and twinkling H2Os. Lookie what I got! I had just gotten my candy today from Cheryl and LOVE everything she gave me!! I can't wait to get these babies inked up!! Thanks for stopping by! =)

Cuttlebug Ka-ray-zee (Crazy)!

Believe it or not, this is only the second time I have used the new cuttlebug folders since I got nearly all the new ones. There are endless possiblities with the ones that you can use just for the edge of a card, or for the center of the card. The flowers are from a folder that is about 1 inch or more in width, so they can emboss anywhere you want it to. The main background is a folder with tiny hearts (looks like the swiss dots), and the sentiment comes as a die cut along with a different (one with flowers) folder.

So basically, I used 3 different embossing folders from cuttlebug. I had to add something to "pop" it, so I used some brads in the flowers.

For those of you who don't already know, I LOVE Hello Kitty...anything Hello Kitty!! I had made this card using an embossing folder from the new release in this card too. This time a different border on the right of the card, it looks like small buttons. The buttons turned out to be better than I thought. I know the picture is dark at the top but I was just too tired to change the location of where I took it.

Here is a side view of the card, you can see the far right was embossed with the folder. I also added brads to Hello Kitty's jumper as an accent. There is a pink background paper I used, and it is hard to see here, but it's actually not Designer Paper. This printed paper is a post it note from Stampin' Up! For those of you demonstrators that have gone into the Logo Place to order products for Business, that is where the post-it notes are from. I just so happen to come across it when I had no idea what paper to use and match properly. Now you can't even see it here! LOL!!! =) Well, it's there. Thanks for looking and have a great day!!!

Jen's LCWC #1

Here is Jen's sketch for week #1 of her new challenge.



This is my entry for Jen's weekly challenge. I loved it because I got to use the stamp sets that I have never used and used some that I have not touch in a while. I have to get this into her before midnight.. kind of like how Cinderella has to hurry home before the carriage turns into a pumpkin!! LOL!!! These owl stamps are from CHF. They really do have sleepy eyes, which is pretty appropriate for me at the moment... =)



Here I used old olive, close to cocoa and always artichoke CS and Inks. I also mounted the eyes on the owl and parts of the card.

Had to show you that I used crystal lacquer on the beak and claws of the owl. To me it makes it look somewhat real. In Hawaii, some say if you see a white owl, it represents a good omen, or is there to protect you and watch over you to keep you away from harm. Well, I have to send this off to Jen. I really hope I made it in time... wish me luck!!!

Jen's LCWC#1

This is my entry for Jen's first challenge. OMG, I have only 10 more minutes to send this to her, it's due every Sunday as long as you make it in before midnight!! I feel like Cinderella who has to make it home before midnight ! LOL!! I love this challenge, it gave me a chance to use several stamp sets that I have not used, or have not used them in a while. These owls are from CHF. They came in a set with words for all occassions, and accessories to dress them up.

I had to get another picture in because I wanted you to see that I used the crystal lacquer for the beak and claws of the owls. To me this gave it a bit more realism. The white owl I glittered because he looked too plain. Here in Hawaii, it is said that if you see a white owl (Pueo), it's a good omen, they are there to protect you from harm. Well, I have to send this off, I got 6 minutes left!!! Wish me luck...

They're Here!!

The wait is over for the new cuttlebug embossing folders, this card was made with the folder and die cut words called "Welcome Baby". I just love the new folders!! I got these folders at J's earlier this week; I LOVE that store!!! =) Hi Cliff and Cheryl!!! I used whisper white, groovy guava and barely banana CS, embellished with DS groovy guava ribbon.

Used my nestabilities to make the circle and scallop circle for the giraffe stamp I bought at J's Knicknacks. Added a little glitter on the scallop edge for some sparkle. I've got more to share with you, so check back in a bit! Have a great Saturday!! =)

Allison's Challenge #27

This is the first time I will be participating in any Challenge, and this one is for Allison's Challenge. The challenge is to create a Giggle card, obviously something to make you laugh. I found it to be a great challenge because it enabled me to rummage through the stamps I have not used in many, many years!! Here are the deets on the card...

The paper that resembles the wall of the bathroom is from SU called Afternoon Tea, the paper for the floor is from the Playshop (those of you who live in Hawaii should know the owner, Greg). Ok, onto the stamps, they are from 3 different stamp companies Emerald City stamps, Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers, and Ann-ticipations. Most people who saw this card thought it was a set. Nope... they are ALA CARTE. =)

I hope this makes you "Giggle", better yet, I hope this will make Allison Giggle! Wish me luck!!

Below is a card I had to make, using the clip art Allision has on her site. I had already made a card with the Girls of the world, and it's only fair that I make something from the boys.

I enjoyed making this card, it was pretty "groovy" LOL!! Anyway, here are the deets. I used TAC printed paper on the bottom of the card, and embossed the card itself with a sizzix tetures plate (the flowers) . Added stickeles glitter to the flowers, then used the sizzlits from sizzix called Playground--love this font!!

I also colored his clothing to make it look even "Groovier" I know you must be tired of these little ones, so I iwll show you something new next time! Have a great day!

Scrappin' Allie Girl

Here are the pages I made of my little one, Allie!! She is not one who will pose for you, if you want those cute pictures you must work for it!! She loves to play, run all over the place, and last but not least, I think she enjoys taking pictures.=) She has a lot of toys to keep her busy, treats and all of us to keep her happy!!
Here is a closer view of my scrapbook page. I didn't have any background paper to use for the page, so I decided to hand stamp a background. All stamps and ink are are from SU.

The letters were made from an older set of sizzlits from Sizzix called Fruit Smoothie, and the squares behind them are punches from SU.

hmmm.... can't remember where I got those tiny dogbones from, but I they were cute, so I had to use them!

A closer look how it was done. You can kind of see the bones and paws i added for embellishments. TFL!!

Worldly Girls

Hey! I got my camera back today and it was the sensor that had problems so it was switched for a new one at no charge ! YIPPIE! Now, I won't have to keep asking Bryan if I could use his camera . I was planning to use the fresh cuts set before I crafted anything from the Dreams du Jour set, but no, I was too excited when my new stuff arrived!! Anyway, I felt bad for not using this set first, so I felt I needed to make another card. Here it is! I used Blue Bayou,Soft Sky and Whisper White CS. I also used the oval and rectangle nesties, cuttlebug embossing folder (Script), cut and pieced everything together. I used my big shot to run the embossing folder through it to get these results. I like the Fresh Cuts set, but sometimes it's hard to know what to make.
So, I stamped the words in the lower right corner of the card then ran the CS in the big shot.

Here is a side view, to show that the white CS got it's image from the cuttle bug embossing folders.

Recognize these Girls? These are the worldly girls!! They are found here and are so cute!! http://stampinwhenican.blogspot.com/2008/05/playing-with-clipart.html I really didn't know how I was going to use them but knew that I wanted them facing each other.

Here I used black, and kiwi kiss CS from SU, Bella Rose DSP, colored with SU markers, and black ribbon from SU as well. I think they came out ok. TFL!

Suspension Card

I got so excited when all the new in color products and new DSP and new cardstock arrived that I forgot all about using my Fresh Cuts stamp set!! Well here it is, my very first fresh cuts card, and suspension card. This set can be used with any color imaginable, I found it to be more on the rustic side so decided to use Ridinghood Red, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla CS and ink. Here is the front view of the card.

This is the front view of the card as well, but the backside of the circle portion. It turns back and forth which is pretty neat!


Here is a view from the top where I tried to capture the mounting and in the distance, the "suspension" part of the card. Have a happy day!

New Goodies!!!

Check it out.... I am back in business with a camera that functions like it should!! Bryan took my camera in to find out what was wrong with it, so it turns out that nothing is wrong with the lens, but the sensor. It will need to be checked out by someone within the next week and we'll find out if it is worth getting fixed or better to just buy a new one. However, this is not my camera, it's Bryan's. He always comes to my rescue when things go wack-o, which is one of the million little reasons we are soon to tie the knot!!! How exciting...
Speaking of exciting, here are the new IN COLORS for the '08-'09 Stampin' Up! year, along with a really awesome new punch! I love it all and so will you! There are also new stamp sets coming out and I have used one of them to create these 2 cards.

The set I used is called Dreams du Jour. I also used the new In Color CS. Here the base of the card is Baja Breeze, the DSP is also new and is called Bella Rose. I used Kiwi Kiss CS and scallop punch to create a border around the butterfly that is stamped on whisper white card stock. The ink is Baja Breeze.

Here is a side view of the card to show you I stamped the butterfly in Baja Breeze on white CS and also onto Vellum. I then cut out the butterflies that were stamped on vellum, and adhered it to the CS with a glue dot in the center of the butterfly's body. I love mounting things I think it really makes the card, gives it great depth and dimension.

This next card is also done from the Dreams du Jour set. I have used the long scallop punch to create a decoration for the bottom of my card. I love pink, and this is a beautiful pink called Pink Pirouette. To me, it's a sweet color for a baby girl...even softer than the Pretty In Pink color.

This time, I did not use my SU scallop punch, instead I used my circle scallop nestabilities. This seemed to have fit perfectly! The DSP is Bella Rose, don't you love it! Everything coordinates so well.

Here you can see that not only did I stamp, color, cut, and mount (again!), I also used my cuttlebug embossing folder to add to the card. I love the swiss dots, they go with just about everything. I don't have a cuttlebug, so I use my big shot to emboss.

Camera Issues

It's been a while since the last post, and it may be a little while after this one as well. I just started having camera issues right before I started this post. I think there's something wrong with the lens, not sure but I will have to get it repaired, or get a new camera...I'm totally upset. There are quite a bit of things I have to share with you. I promise, as soon as I get my hands on a "working" camera, there will be lots of craft "eye candy"!!!

Well, this is a card I made using perfect plum, and cool caribbean from the second set of "in colors" from Stampin' Up, and vanilla cardstock. I have not used this stamp set (Simply Said) and wheel (Kindness) in a long time, it's one of my favorites! I never thought I'd place these colors together, it's not a common combination for me.

Birthday Dinner and $ Holder

Here I am with great friends, Erika and Danell!! We went out to celebrate my birthday, and just to hang out with adults only. By this I mean that our friend Erika has 2 adorable boys who usually occupy all of her time, so this was a great opportunity for her to take a break. The guys are there too, just on the other end of the camera! We had no idea where to go that night and chose to go somewhere that we have not been to, dress casually, enjoy good entertainment, and hopefully good food. We ended up at Kincaid's at Ward. Everything we were looking for was there! The entertainment was great!! They had a group called Jook Joint, a really, really great group of guys!
Well, Erika's Birthday is just 10 days after me, so looks like we'll have to celebrate again!

Here I have created a money holder for a swap with a group of girls who work on the University of Hawaii Manoa Campus. Each month we have a new challenge to complete. I love swaps because they allow you to challenge yourself and think outside the box, and you also get new ideas from others. I had misplaced the template to create this money holder, and had to resort to finding one and taking it apart to trace onto my cardstock. It's a good thing that I only had to make 7 total. So, once I finished tracing that, I had to score all the folds and tape them together, and decorate. The supplies used were: Seeing Spots, and Enjoy Every Moment stamp sets, Groovy Guava CS, Chocolate Chip CS, Vanilla CS, groovy guava, chocloate chip, and so saffron ink, vintage brad, dimesionals, white gel pen, 1 3/8" circle punch, and scallop punch. I created a mini band to go around the holder, to keep it held together, but also to make it look good.
