Home is Where the Haunt is (LCWC #10)

Hi everyone! This is my card for Jen's Challenge (LCWC #10). Our challenge is to create a card the size of a #10 envelope, hence it's challenge #10!! Being that the card is long, I chose to create a scene for the next celebration of Halloween. The sets I chose include Home is Where the Haunt Is and Booglie Eyes, and yes they are both retired sets from Stampin' Up!. The first set comes with a haunted house, dead tree, moon, witch on a broom, small fence and a piece of a wall. After creating the background, I can see how this would look like a stamping wheel instead of separate pieces. The other set includes these little guys, a spider and wording. The clouds in the background were created using my cloud template.

I stamped and colored the little guys cut them out and mounted them onto the card. Can't you just see all the trick-or -treaters going from house to house in their costumes? I think the little ones are the cutest! Halloween is such a great time to dress up, plan a spooky party with all the creative treats, drinks and candies. Did I paint a good picture of it in your head? LOL! =)
Have a great day!!

Cute Punch Art

Yay! We made it, it's Friday! A couple days ago, my friend Jocelyn told me to check out Dawn's blog because she made a really cute owl using various punches from Stampin' Up! She was right. This is the owl she created, isn't he adorable!! Anyway, Jocelyn asked if I could try and create one. So here he is! =) After I made the owl I created this card.
There are many other creations of punched art available for all to see and create but for me, this one tops it all off! It's really cute!

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Best Yet (SU)
Cardstock: Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip,
Pumpkin Pie, and Hawaii Papaya DSP--all of which are from Stampin' Up!
Nestabilities: Scallop Square
Punches: 1 3/4" Circle (NEW), Large Oval (NEW), Scallop Circle, Round Tab, Boho Blossoms,
3/4" circle, 1/2" circle, and 1/4" circle.
Accessories: Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, White Gel Pen
You must try this. Have a great day everyone!!! =)

Hawaii Papaya

Mornin' y'all! Well, I had gotten up early this morning and decided to finish up a card I made using dew drops. I also had to be sure to take a picture of the card before I mail it off to someone who told me where to find them. (Hopefully she will not see this card before she gets it in the mail)These are really great to use as an embellishment for nearly any project. This is my first time using them and I really love it on the flowers!! =)

I wanted to make a card that had something to do with Hawaii, and how perfect is it that Stampin' Up! has come out with a new DSP called Hawaii Papaya. I have used it as a background on this card. I also have my sizzix die of the sandal and cut them out then ran them through my swiss dots cuttlebug folder for texture and a bit of realism. I have added a bit of sponging to the outer parts of the slipper too.

Another thing I added was a tag as if it were a pair of slippers in the store. So, because it's for a friend and you really can't put a price on friendship, I wrote in the word "priceless". The sentiment on the front of the tag is from TAJ (a LSS here in Hawaii). This was a really fun card to create, I think I will be making more of these in the future. I sure hope she likes this card... have a great day everyone!! =)

Frosty's Friend

It's late, so a really quick post but had a chance to post a card I created for Allison's Challenge this week. It's to create a card with a snowman or snowmen! I chose this cute stamp from Whipper Snapper Designs. I just thought he was so cute because you can barely see his face. The hat's too big and the scarf is just a bit too high for him! =) The snowflake stamp came from an SU set called Merry and Bright, the sentiment from another SU set called Best Yet, and gingham ribbon and cardstock are from SU too.
Wanted to show you in this photo, that I mounted certain parts of the stamp to give a little dimension and used glitter on the snowflakes and part of the snowman's clothing. Well, I am off to bed now...gotta get up early for work! =)

I tried it!

Hi everyone! I wanted to share this book I created using the tutorial that Teri has on her blog HERE. Her instructions are very easy to follow, it's a great book to make for any occassion. I created this one here for my niece for her first birthday. On the cover, I used my sizzlit letters called Fruit Smoothie which is one of my favs.
Each of the pages has a circle cut out with the coluzzle, and stamped before being assembled. Piecing the project together is the quickest part, I think cutting and prepping the sizes take a little more time. One thing good about the cutting is that there aren't many different sizes to cut. I also stamped some images from a set called Mindy's Zoo. If you like cute animals, this is the set you need to have. I saw this set at Teri's house and had to get one too! Thanks Teri! =)
In the center of the circle, she had threaded a scallop circle with a sentiment. I stamped the words Happy Birthday on each of the circles using different fonts in each.
Here you can see that there is a hippo on the left and monkey swinging on the vine.
There is also a lion and bird in the stamp set. After creating this star book I had filled the pages with pictures of my neice from her birthday party.
Last, I stamped the monkey with the flowers, and the giraffe and coconut tree. Now it's your turn, go ahead and make one you will be so proud of yourself when it's done! I think I will create another one in the future but keep it for myself! LOL!! Have a great day!

Crazy For Magnolias!

Good Tuesday morning bloggers! Hope all is well. I must tell you that I love these magnolia stamps and just had to create something using them. In fact I should be using them because I have so many. I don't know much about magnolias besides the fact that they are cute, but for those who don't know... they are made in Sweden and take forever to ship out nearly anywhere in the world. So when I see them I just need to get them or they will be gone in no time! In this card I used 2 magnolia stamps. One is Tilda in Lace Skirt and the other is the wall she is sitting on. Another reason I like them is because you can create a scene using the accessories.
I have used SU designer series paper, colored with my copics, used the SU Circle of friendship stamp set, embellished with a pink CTMH paper flower, and to hide the empty space on the end of the wall I used a snail and potted plant stamp from Dandelion Designs which is a local line of stamps. Just found out tonight that they fit perfectly on the wall next to Tilda.
I also used my nestabilities to create the scallop square border. These 2 stamps were purchased from Little C's. Head on over there now if you want these! The latest about magnolias, is that Diana Crick (she created the scor-pal) will be opening up her store and start selling magnolia stamps sometime this week. How exciting! I have got other items to show you and will hopefully be able to share that with you tomorrow. Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by!

Little C's #9

Hello Everyone!! It's been quite a while since I have posted last. I have been very busy and exhausted this week trying to get rest as I was feeling like I was coming down with something, and also trying to create projects so I can share it with all of you. There are so many things I want to create and share, but not enough time in the day. (For now anyway--maybe there will be more time after the wedding). I know most of you are thinking that you had more time in the day to craft... I guess we all do! This week Jen has us creating a card with a sketch she created HERE. Not only were we to use her sketch, but to also use buttons! So for my card I chose to use my stamp from Magnolia called Edwin with Guitar. I got this stamp from Little C's. I really love these Magnolia stamps. You'd be amazed to see how many I have! Anyway to create this card I used my cuttlebug folder called Argyle, some buttons from SU, CS from SU, oval nestabilities, and stamp set called Best Yet from SU.
How many of you are Magnolia fans??? Just to get an idea, please leave a post and a yes I like them or no I don't really like them.
Hoping all of you have a great Monday!! See you soon! =)

Pink It Is

Hi everyone!! Good Friday Morning! It has been a very busy, tiring week for me, it's finally time for the weekend. Today I want to share a RAK from Joy! You can check her blog out HERE, she has super cute things going on there. Thanks Joy, I love it! She created this cute little bag and the calendar next to it. She filled the bag with candies that were eaten by my little cousins. Sorry, no photo of those. Isn't this mermaid sooo cute? I love how she was created using various punches from Stampin' Up!. Whoever thought about creating a mermaid out of those punches must be one creative cookie. There are many other items that can be created with those punches. Not only did she create a mermaid out of punches, she also added some flowers with glittery brads for the centers, (Hard to see the shine in this pic) but she also created a little tag using the NEW scallop square punch and wording all from Stampin' Up!
This here, is the top of the bag of candy that was in the bag Joy made. It's made with 2 pieces of scalloped circles to create a back and front of the topper. I thought this was really cute, especially with the flower and bling in the center. I love getting stamped mail, it's so much fun, especially when getting RAK'd! Wishing you all a great weekend, for me the goal will be to relax, catch up on some sleep, and crafting. Thanks for stopping by!

So Pretty!!

Well, it's Monday night again. Wasn't it Monday just a couple of days ago?? The days just go by soooo fast. Actually the weekends go by soooo fast, I wish it were Saturday. Anyway, I had no time to craft anything this weekend until today. I made my first Sarah Kay card! These girls are super cute! When I first saw these stamps the first thing I thought was Vintage. I used shades of brown to color this stamp called Picnic of Daisies which I picked up from Little C's. I also used my cuttlebug folder in the background, SU chocolate chip double stitched ribbon (that sounds Yummy) LOL! , paper flowers and big brads from CTMH.
Speaking of Little C's, Jen was so sweet to create a watermark for me!! Doesn't it look pretty!!! I bet all of you thought the title of my post was all about the card... no way! I mean the stamp is cute, but the watermark makes everything look soooo pretty!! Big Mahalos Jen!! You'd be so proud of me I managed to create a watermark on my own after messing with the darn thing for a few hours. I am not computer literate like Jen, this is fun stuff for her. =) After all that I found it to be fun too. The funny thing is I would be able to tell someone how to create a watermark!! I must not forget to thank MIKE! Mike works with computers all day long. He taught me how to use it over the pics. (So, now all of you know how computer stuff and I don't really mesh). Danell, thanks for letting me borrow Mike! He's a lifesaver! =) Have a great Tuesday!!

Jocelyn's Birthday!

Today is Jocelyn's Birthday! Happy Birthday! Last week Saturday when Joce, Kristie and I finished with our make and take at TAJ our conversation was nothing but Magnolia talk. I had no idea that they both liked them too! So, over the course of week I checked out the various Magnolia stamps online and they go all the way back to 2005. There are tons of Magnolia images out there. I love these little guys because they are cute, they have accessories to go with a theme, and you can create a scenery with the different boy and girl. Since she loves Magnolia's too, I made her birthday card with Tilda in her Cherry Dress. I love this stamp, it shows her cute shoes (reminds me of my little mary jane shoes I used to wear as a kid).

It was an easy quick card to create. I was able to pump this out this morning and get it to her this afternoon. I am so glad this does not take a long time to make. I used my SU markers to color her, circle and scallop circle nesties. I also cut out the little flowers and added a gold brad in the middle. I really should have placed some mounting tape behind her for a little lift, I shall save that for next time. Wishin' all of you a great night! See ya tomorrow.

Little C's Challenge #8

Good morning all! Jen's challenge is now on it's 8th week, how quickly time flies! This week we are to create a halloween card using the template HERE. I chose my cute Penny Black stamp called pesky bats. This company has the cutest stamps, one of my favorites! Halloween is also one of my favorite times of the year.
I also used a set from Stampin' Up! that has been retired called Bitty Boos, and used them in the little circles on the far end of the card. I was at work later than usual yesterday and left about ten after 6 and noticed it was darker than usual but not sure why. I later realized that it is already September and getting towards fall. The days just fly by so quickly!! Before we know it, there will be tons of trick-or-treaters going around in their halloween costumes! Well, have a great Aloha Friday and start stamping up those holiday cards it will be here in no time...

Shaker Card Tutorial: Part 2

Here is the second part of the shaker tutorials. I have another one to show you later. This is the big shot. I am a Stampin' Up! demonstrator but I have had this big shot for several years and there really is no need for me to buy another when this one is perfectly fine, and functions just the same.
I will be using the extra long die from Stampin' Up! to create this. You will insert one of the plastic cutting plates in the Big Shot.
Then place the XL die on the plate.
Place your paper where you want the die to cut.
Put the last clear plate over the paper and die. Be sure that the 2 clear plastic plates, and die are all lined up together.
Begin cranking your Big Shot and guiding the die and plates through to the other side.
Now begin to remove all your cut outs.
Here are the items I chose to cut out.
Next, I got some foamies sheets and cut out a piece to the shape of one of the flowers.
This the finished, and cut foam piece. You can see here what the width of it looks like. You can see that it is thick enough to place beads in the little holes of the flowers. (Continue on, then you'll see what I mean).
You will be needing to cut out 2 of these flowers with cardstock. Then you will get clear plastic sheets and cut them out into the shape of the flower. You DO NOT want to put this in the Big Shot, it will just remove all the little pieces of the plastic. The reason you need the clear plastic is to hold the beads in place.
This is the completed shaker flower! I have placed clear plastic sheets to both of the flowers I cute with cardstock. One on the front of the foam flower, and one on the back of the foam flower. Before you put the last flower piece on the back, be sure you add your beads into the little holes!

When you stick these pieces together, you really do not need something extremely strong to hold it together. I used snail adhesive from SU. If you are making something much bigger and it has lots of stuff to create your shaker, then you will need something stronger.
Here you can see that the width was perfect to hold the beads.
I will make another shaker flower, but one that does not have too many little holes. I die cut this flower and used my 3/4" circle punch for the center and this is what I came out with. So, just do the same thing. Add your clear plastic sheet to each flower (one for the front of foam and the other for the back of the foam). Then adhere one flower to the foam and fill with beads or in this case I have a cute little doggie that I shrank with shrink art (learned that from Jocelyn) and stuck him in there!! There are really endless possiblities with what you want to add in your shaker cards/items.
This is a really cute card that my friend Joce made for me on my birthday. She used a different sizzix flower that Stampin' Up! does not have in their catalog. The center of the flower in the die is already there, so you do not need to use a punch. She added a cute little doggie from Juju's Tiny Treasures (now known as Create In Me stamps), and a little glitter. Thanks Joce for the great card and shrinked shaker!! LOVE it!!
I hope this tutorial was a helpful and easy to understand and follow. Contact me for questions.

August Goodies!!

Good morning!! I am finally done with making my wedding invites and feel relieved that we wil be sending them out today. Planning for it is so difficult especially if you make everything on your own. (Don't get me wrong, it was so much fun). Anyway, I want to share with you a whole bunch of goodies I just received from Melissa. She and I were paired up in JT's RAK for the month of August.
It was my first time participating in it and it's a whole lotta fun especially when you get lots of goodies like this. Melissa created 2 cards for me, and gave me some stamped images and a stamp! I love it all! Thank you so much! I will be using them to create a bunch of cards.
If you'd like to be apart of JT's RAK, scroll down to the right side of my blog and you will find a calendar. Click on the calendar to find out how to join in all the fun!!
Hope all of you have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!
